"ohhhh boot camp was sooooo hard"

we had a kid shoot himself im the hand right before i arrived, and another kid jumped off a balcony just a few months ago and killed himself, you are a baby!

but seriously, some big changes are about to happen pretty soon. not going to be nearly as rough as it was.

Hoo boy. The Pianist. That was my last straw. I've said this before, but once again:
I get it. Holocaust was bad. Really bad. However, I will never, ever, ever sit through another morose, depressing, defeatist, misanthropic and emotionally devastating "man's inhumanity to man" movie again. Screw your Hotel Ruwanda, Kite Runner, Boy in Striped Pajamas and any other film you can think of about people living in dirt.

Oh, I admit I as a sailor had it easier than jarheads....I went to San Diego, the marine corps boot was literally across the fence. However, my DI was exactly like that guy....called you ever name in the book, told you how useless you were...sure it was the same for you jarheads.

    Tangient here, about Rogue One:
So, with all the Star Wars futuristic tech, why would they have to hand-deliver a DOS graphic file on a piece of sheet metal after beaming it via radio telescope from a bridge with no railing? Why not emails or text messages? A podcast discussion about this question led to something I haven't noticed: it's quite possible that the Star Wars universe is one that has no c9ncept of written language. Protocol droids and holographs seem to be their only indirect communication methods. There are glyphs posted about but no text (that I can recall, anyway). It seems too random of a point to be intentional by Lucas, but also too specific to not be. Thoughts?
