The missed throw to Walker is really giving off the wrong perception that Mariota had a bad game. Aside from two off throws and 1missed opportunity to Smith late in the game he was excellent. That's the problem with our offense. Mariota has to be perfect. A couple of missed throws is devastating in this offense because we are constantly in 3rd down situations

61.8% completion percentage and a 78.4 passer rating is mediocre. He had no INTs but also no TDs. Being in third and long so often didn't help.

I thought he played better than he did the first half against the Colts but his mechanics still seem off to me.

No QB Coach or anyone on staff that has a clue to help the QB.

That's the problem. And it will never change.

I tend to agree. After Cassel "led" us to 10 points against MIA, I don't think they really had much choice but to rush him back. This last 3 game stretch was so key. Going anything less than 2-1 against those teams would've been a major blown opportunity in the grand scheme of the season. We managed to pull it off by the slimmest of margins.

Hopefully Flota is a lot closer to 100% after the bye. If our offensive gameplans don't evolve I'm not sure how much it will even matter though.

Completion percentage and qb rating never tell the whole story.

Offense will look Much better when Davis is back. More PA would be nice.

Misc note which doesn't seem to fit anywhere else. Since the Titans love to play for field goals, it should be noted that teams are perfect against the Titans this year in this category no matter who is kicking....

    CLE 3/3 - long 54
    IND 3/3 - 52
    MIA 1/1 - 41
    HOU 3/3 - 50
    SEA N/A
    JAX 1/1 - 43
    OAK 4/4 - 52

I watched the game too. You're kidding yourself to think Mariota is playing at anything more than a mediocre level.

Mariota missed a wide-open Matthews on a drive the Titans ended up kicking a FG. We've already talked about the whiff on the Walker pass.

It's okay to say your injured QB is not performing at a high level. We're not seeing those big pass plays we had last year or the redzone efficiency. I think it'll return when 8 is healthy and he gets Davis back.

The interior OL's run blocking has to improve as well because, no matter how much Mariota improves as a passer, the Titans have a run-based offense.
