Last season we were 1st in the league in red zone TD % at 72% and this year we are 31st in the league at 41%.....you turn some FGs into TDs an everyone is happy with the offensive production.

The top 2 defenses in terms of points per game are the Seahawks and Jags both with 15 ppg.....well we put up 33 and 37 against those top 2 defenses...just crazy

The biggest issue and why i think it makes our OL look worse than they are is because of the predictable playcalling. We are at our best in play action and after a game against the colts where Mariota was deadly in PA Mularkey decides not to put it to use against the Browns. We never kept the Browns guessing what we would do on early downs. It put our entire offense in a vulnerable spot. This is a first when im not blaming any of the players on offense. Execution or not if your coach is constantly putting you in position to fail than you will fail.

That tells me how widely inconsistent the gameplanning has been each week. Or shall i say how lackluster it has been. Sometimes running the ball up the middle works. Problem is our HC banks on it leading us to victory every week.

Dont you think lack of execution also falls on the shoulders of coaches?

I certainly do. The coaches have to put players in position to make plays.

I do believe that this offense can be pretty tough to defend when we get all of our pieces back healthy.

I totally agree with the part about play action, that's definitely something Marcus is good at. Need to play to our strengths more, and not over think things.

The problem with predictable play calling is there is a very fine line between establishing the run game, not going away from it, then cramming it down their throat when it starts working, and being predictable, easy to defend, and going no where. It comes down to good play calling AND execution on the field. Right now, neither of those are happening and our offense has been stuck in the mud as a result.
