JRob Overrated?

You made this exact same identical post about Dodd probably 60 times.

 

I'm not defending Dodd. My response was about Johnson, who is in rotational duty and has been solid while he's been in. I don't see how that is considered a bust as a 2nd year second rounder, unless your expectations were unrealistically high.

 

J-Rob is ok, but he's definitely overrated. He's got us Byard, swindled a good pick with Conklin, and I think Davis will inevitably work out. That's good, but it's not great. The problem is he clearly has holes in his managing, and that's his ability to scout defense combined with his reliance on too much character concern. Leaving the guys on the board for defense that he has despite our needs is one thing, but when he has tried his hand on that side of the football, it's generally turned out awful. J-Rob infamously said he doesn't want choir boys, but that's exactly what he goes for and on the defensive side of the ball that doesn't work nearly as much. History and statistics show, you need bad, bad men on that side of the football to be successful.

Hopefully he wises up soon, and makes some adjustments, because we need a better defense.

 

Add 100 more times when he was a first year guy. I predict "you have too many expectations for a 10th year guy" as well.

 

For the concept of that argument it's not.

I'm not sold that Henry is 100% the guy that can carry this team as sole RB, but when arguing the Webster was remotely above worst GM vs JRob with his current work, it's a valid point.

 

I know he's not the same, but 3 RB doesn't work all that well. Consider how much the ball seems forced to Murray already. When would McKinnon get any touches?

 

.....No. Saying it doesn't matter if Henry isn't a RB1 because he has already out rushed bishop Sankey doesn't work in any argument regardless of the context.

That is like saying if we draft an OLB in the second round next year and he records 2 sacks that it doesn't matter if he sucks or underachieves because he has already out produced Kevin Dodd.

I know this franchise sucks but if that is all it takes to satisfy you then that is sad.

It absolutely matters when you waste high draft choices. A second round running back is expected to be an effective lead rusher not just someone who out produced a poverty running back drafted a few years prior.

Did you read the argument that comment came from or just the comment?

Henry has done alright in his limited opportunities. If he was expected to be the RB1 when he was drafted (like Sankey) then I would expect much more out him. So far, he's just the guy to give Murray a breather and take a few carries a game.

I'm not sure if your entire thing is just hating on Henry or something, but you've jumped to way more conclusions than I stated at all.

 

Admittedly I just read your one comment. I don't hate Henry either. Not sold but don't hate him. I wish we would stop giving gimpy Murray carries and move on to Henry since he's the future (hopefully) and healthier.
