Smack Winston shut down for a couple weeks (photo of condition included)

Uhhhh...

 

Mariota has played his worst football this season and is still just about par with Winston who’s been having his best season based on passing numbers which by the way are inflated. Are we just going to ignore that Winston has thrown at least 4-5 dropped picks including 3 in the Patriots game alone? And the fact that he has 4 legitimate receivers (top 5 receiver in Evans, DJax, Brate, and OJ Howard) unlike our team who has Delanie Walker, inconsistent Rishard Matthews, and number one pick who can’t get on the field?

Other than the game against the Giants, Winston has been just as bad as Mariota if not worse. He gets a lot of his yards in garbage time. I’m not a huge fan of this stat, but at least it does do a good job in not giving credit for garbage time stats: Mariota is 9th in QBR while Winston is 24th.

And over the career, it’s not too close. Mariota has been better (better passer rating, QBR, etc.) Not to mention the off the field antics and maturity issues Winston has that Mariota doesn’t. I think we got the better guy and as long as Mariota stays healthy I think we’ll be fine.

That being said, Mariota should be better than this and I think I’d rather have both Wentz and Dak (and I wasn’t saying that last year).

 

Hard to argue with how well they are playing. But we had our QB before Wentz came along, and EVERYONE missed on dak, even the cowboys passed on him a few times. (again though, we already had our guy)

 

would you rather have winston or mariota?

 

Not sure at this point. They're pretty similar.

Winston has more dumb-f*ckery and off-field stuff that makes me not want him.

 

He also has muplty games with 3-4 inTs.

Mariota: 5-2
Winston: 2-6

 

That’s where the extra picks come in too.

 

MM8 has 5 Ws and dumbarse has 2....

What about MM8 rushing TD's, you left that out and it's an important stat if you're trying to assess impact. I don't hate on Winston just trying to be objective
