I know I am stating the obvious but at this point last week of preseason is not the time to be discussing improving our WR corp. The front offcie tried to go on the cheap and now they are reaping what they have sowed. I guess we should start looking at who we are targeting in the 09 draft at wideout and this time pick a sure thing. I think that given the present situation we will have a pick in the first 8-12 since I see us goin 6-10 this season.

6-10 is pretty rough, considering that we have a relatively easy schedule.

The Titans are tied for 3rd in the most difficult strength of schedule. Go here for that info.

The Titans receivers are just as good as last year. Who did they lose? They added some pieces to the offense: Crumpler, Johnson. Why would they be worse than last year? 6-10 seems pretty pessimistic to me.

I think were going 10-6. Our WR's haven't changed but actually have improved. I'm just worried aout consistant play, injuries, and depth.

CB depth is our weakness. We will get torched without Harper (we probably will get torched with him.)

Generally speaking, WR's tend to have very little effect on the team's W/L record.

There have been plenty of championship-caliber teams with very mediocre WR's. By the same tokens, there are several teams who have great WR's, and yet have a losing record year after year.

WR is almost certainly the most overrated position on the roster.

I'm aware of that, however, it's based almost solely on our division games. Look at the other teams in the top ten, they're the others in our division, plus the AFC North, the other AFC division that has to play our entire division. Our non-division games are relatively easy, our three toughest opponents there are probably the Steelers, Browns, and Vikings, with a big drop off after that. If we can't win more than six games out of two with the Texans, the Bengals, Ravens, Jets, Chiefs, Lions, Bears, and Packers, then I'll be very surprised.

Our schedule is pretty rough, but luckily for us, our toughest non-divisional opponents have to come to Nashville (Min, Cle, Pitt, Pack).

Brought this over from another thread cuz it fits better here:

The King has heard enough of the "gloom and doom" scenarios!! To make right the Titan's place in the cosmos, The King is bringing up out of Tartarus (the Underworld) a special group of helpers. These helpers are the Hecatoncheires. There are three of them and they are unique in all creation - they each have 100 hands and 50 heads. Crown Prince Fisher will be allowed to place them where he thinks best in the upcoming games, but the King recommends that they be used as receivers. This will greatly aid Marquess Vince Young in his passing game. No more lost or dropped balls! :woot:

:yell2: Hear ye! Hear ye! Tune in Thursday for an amazing turn around in Titan offense!
