Well you have 50thousand posts on an NFL teams message board. I don't think you're the guy to be telling others that it's "just a game".
And if you follow those others as close, it stands even more.

Titans are my favourite team and I am only on two message boards, this and a book one which I post (on average) once a day.

However just because I post a lot doesn't mean I get emotionally involved, or rag on a guy because he is having some personal issues, it's just a game, win or lose it doesn't bother me as much.

So we should all be just as melancholy and indifferent as you are eh? Some real loud fans we'd be when the Titans did score.

Pass the tea please. I do enjoy it when they cross the endzone, don't you?

:biglaugh: ...anyway it's emotions that drive a fan base anyway. Whether it be cheering when they score, mad when they play bad and turn the ball over, concerned when a player is injured in whatever way it is...that's what makes you a fan. You can't call yourself a real fan if you don't get somewhat emotional regardless of what that emotion is.

It's fine to support your team and cheer, but being so emotionally involved in something that doesn't affect your life is silly.

Criticizing people who don't look, act, behave, or think the way you do is also silly....

For you it's silly, that's fine, so ignore it and let other people do what they want to do...

It doesn't bother me that much either. What DOES bother me is seeing some other posters getting overly sympathetic towards a grown man who commands contracts that millions would love to have while setting the piss-poor example of giving up before he's even begun to earn the money that he's already been paid. Nobody- here or anywhere else- needs to be viewing this guy as a "hero" or team leader to be waited on, or whatever else I've been reading here.

I saw Peyton Manning have crappier games than Vince has had early in his career and throw stupid tantrums, but he never talked about quitting before he gave it a chance. And there's no need to revisit all the abuse that Eli took from the fans and media... what sort of example did he make of himself?

I- and you- would be doing the fans on this board a great disservice by calling this extremely lucrative business "just a game" while sitting around whining about "poor Vince!". That's not the kind of example I wish to be.

I just had a vision of my walking into my bosses office the next time I have a bad week and screw a few things up and telling him that I just need a little TLC and I'll do better. WOW, the look I'd get for that one.

This whole thing is ridiculous! If Vince doesn't want to work hard to get thru this, I wish he would just retire. If he does want to, i believe that he can be a great QB with the right effort, and attitude. He has the right people around him in coach Fisher, and very supportive teammates, but if he is too fragile mentally to do it, just give up now, and stop jerking us around.
