shut up. that's pretty humble actually. I am not especially good at the game. I've improved a bit. I wish I would have seen this thread before I gave you a positive rep in another thread. When you ask for a beating because you know you aren't very good and you end up winning it's ok to be excited. I didn't say the first thing about Greg in a negative light. And what I said about the Vince Young thing is true, and I've seen people make crazy plays keeping the quarterback moving until the pass coverage breaks down... Receivers become completely uncovered after a time... and they caught the ball... it was unconventional but it would work. I'm a light hearted individual... it's just a video game. It's okay to joke about it... It's not being unsportsmanlike...

The 2 TE single back formation is simply the best unless you have slow TEs or poor blocking TEs.

I play madden 07 the pc version and troupe is a stud with one of the highest speed ratings among TEs and kinney is solid all around and can hold his own blocking most DEs.

The power set for running the ball is the I with kinney and hall.

As gut said you focus on a handful of plays and a handful of sets you know really well and have run hundreds of times. It's about execution more than deception.

Anyone have any good nano blitzes for this version? I used to spend a couple of days figuring out nano blitzes when each version came out but I'm too old and lazy to do that and I don't do much all out blitzing anymore. Do people still do this a lot and if yes, what are some good nano blitzes for this version in 09?

    Tide...

You're a couple versions behind (though I should talk, I think I have the last 1 or 2 versions hanging around which I don't play). Update and get on an xbox live! :)

    Well...

It's term referring to moving personel around to create the perfect blitz. Each year, people would toy around with moving DL, lb's and s's around in various blitzes versus various offensive formations and pass protections to see how they could get a free rusher(s) to the QB by taking advantage of the pass protection ai.

A lot of this had to do with the blitz, where players were starting and coming from, and the pass protection ai. Obviously, a lot of people tried to find a perfect blitz againt 4 wr formations since you have limited pass protection options. If you can always get a free rusher vs a 4 wr set, you cut down offensive options on 3rd and long.

Most of these blitzes had to be 'setup' to be effective...so if you see someone constantly moving personel around...its a good bet they are trying to set up a blitz. That's why I said, if people are doing this, just run to the line and snap the ball. Or call an audible and snap. This is a good strategy in real life against teams that move around AFTER the OL calls their assignments...like the Ravens, Steelers, Chargers, ect.

One blitz that used to be good with this was storm...2 lb's blitzing. One year, if you simply spread the DL and pinched the lb's so they both blitzed up the gut, one would almost always get free against single back formations.

One year, people used to use punt block vs 3rd and long...you could only stop it out of a couple of formations and IF you knew how to adjust your pass protection. That was not a fun year!

Anyway, the pass blocking AI seems to be light years ahead of where it used to be, so im not sure people really try this too much anymore.

Just wondering if that kind of thing was still around...of course, you can still get free rushers with good stratey and playcalling...

    Thanks for the explanation.

I'll tell you that in a bunch of games online I have never come across someone that tried one play over and over and was able to successfully get at my quarterback. So maybe the improvement of AI has really helped. IDK.
