Butler has the potential to very good but I just think Smith is the better player and is more NFL ready right now. Butler's size is obviously better and he's even faster, but I think he's still pretty raw. Smith is way better in coverage IMO and is just a more naturally gifted CB. Butler is definitely a great athlete though and was pretty good on offense last year too. I think if Smith was 2-3 inches taller though he would be the best CB in the draft.
Pro days don't matter, yeah, but the resulting hype sometimes does. Can't count on every team to think that way to allow a player to fall to us. I think Butler is the real deal, too - he would return and perhaps play some offense, too. And I doubt he's around when we pick. Heard some pundits say he could now be the first corner off the board. I still think he'd be the third, but will likely go before our pick. Just about every team before us that needs a WR ALSO needs a cornerback. Gut's right: "Buh-bye."
