Hooters in Nashville is fine. But be careful walking around that area late night on weekends. (unless things have changed)

Several stabbings and other smaller violent crimes have taken place in that general location.

Ohhh... I got one... Printer's Alley. Avoid at all costs.

It's much like what Alex just said. You will get mugged, raped, and possibly murdered if you go down there at the wrong time.

I've also been down by the area that Alex just mentioned... It's freakin' dangerous. I saw some guy being carried off in a stretcher with his head all bloodied up. Not good.

Graham Central Station is on that street... another obvious place to avoid.

Ummm, that's 2nd and Broadway. Downtown. Unless you're down there after 2:00 a.m., there are cops everywhere protecting the tourists and giving DUI's. I wouldn't be too afraid of the area unless you are looking for trouble in the wee hours of the morning.

Drunk college students and homeless people don't mix well at 3:00 A.M.

Since you asked, another thing I would avoid is anywhere in the Metro area where there are more than 6 Harley's parked out front (unless you are a big guy and can handle yourself). Keep driving. Great people during the day, but get a few drinks in them by midnight and liquid courage is rampant. I'm 6'4", 250, with a big :grrr::grrr::grrr: smile so I get left alone. But I've seen many tourists get pounded for small things.

I really don't consider 2nd avenue and downtown the usual location for college students, but perhaps I don't go there at the right time. The college kids are usually over around Vanderbilt area- Demonbreun, West End, Music Row area.

Honestly though I haven't gone out downtown Nashville much in the last year, way less than usual.

It is. McFadden's and Graham Central Station (and Hooters)... college hot spot.

West End is much better though. I prefer the earlier portions of West End over downtown by a longshot.

I'll tell ya, just hang around SoBro these days at the Honky-Tonks. Wall to wall students.

Dickerson Road, unless you're looking for crackheads who are trying to amass a fortune, $20 bucks at a time. The Greyhound bus station downtown. Anthony's Showplace.

watch out for some certain "pockets" of East Nashville, there on the same side of the river as the stadium. they have quite a bit of crime over there.

also, im not big on the southeast/eastern portion of nashville. Murfreesboro pike, etc.
