That situation wasn't handled the best true but how was it anything other than a business decision? We didn't do it out of spite. It's also ridiculous to say any way the team tries to honor him is for nothing because of how we treated him, that's just nonsense. One bad incident after years of a great relationship doesn't mean we can't honor him.

My favourite NFL player of all time, and he's gone. Just like that. I'm having trouble trying to find the words to convey exactly the kind of feeling I have here - but rest assured, I am absolutely horrified.

Because he thought she was hot?

    Because young women are hot?

The main isue about her age is that here you had a 36 year old man very experienced in life a man used to having a lot and he was dating a girl who was like any typical girl in college working as a waitress to get by. I'm sure those differences played into why he was killed.

The image i would have of the girl steve would have a serious relationship with might be an educated professional at least 5-6 years older than that.

Exactly. What a stupid question. He was a wealthy former NFL MVP! For Michael Jackson's sake I'd be dating a hawt 20 yr old girl too!

Right. Because athletes are well-known for their selection of educated professional women as life mates.

Here's news: people date because they're attracted to each other; not because some government computer has placed them together due to age and experience compatibilities.

No surprise here to see hundreds of posters weighing in on McNair's untimely death. Wow, I'm so sad to be honest, I feel like a true friend has past. His poor family must be so hurt it cant be described. I haven't read a single post yet, my internet at home is screwed up so I've been burning all weekend to vent to other people that loved Steve McNair. By far my worst 4th of July ever. I for one was a HUGE McNair fan & supporter. Its so strange how he came into the world on a holiday and went out on another. To me he was a 'God' like figure. Never quite, never gave up, he was the definition of what a 'Titan' should be. I can tell you the Titans will be playing for something else in 2009 than just a Super Bowl title. I'd rather not comment on the situation just yet without knowing the facts that haven't yet been revealed. No matter what's unveiled later, I will always remember Steve McNair as a titanic hero.

    R.I.P Steve

It's taken me a while to post anything about this, cause nothing really seems to fit. My heart breaks for his wife and kids - it's a lot for us fans to digest, I can't imagine Mechelle's world right now.

As for Steve - how many players have commanded such widespread respect from teammates, coaches, sports writers, fans and opponents? He was bigger than the team he played for - so much so that when he left to join the team Titans fans might hate the most, we were angry with the Titans FO for letting it come to that. A lot of us were even pulling for him to win a ring with the Ravens once the Titans were eliminated - that's just crazy talk. But it shows how much we loved him.

Vince, you've got some monster-sized shoes to fill. In a Titans uniform or not, you better make Pops proud.
