Considering humans are living longer and longer each generation, there is nothing to worry about with meat.

It's been proven that countries with healthier diets that eat less meats and more grains/vegetables live a lot longer, and more healthy lives.

    Shouldn't really surprise anyone.

Wish I could find the story about a small country where they're living to be 100 (many living to 120) and beyond commonly.

I'm talking over the entire human race where they lived til 30 and now we are living to what, 80 on average?

Though being frail at 80 or 100 isn't much of a life.

These people are pretty active at 80 and look more like our 60-70. Look at the Japanese for example.

Ammo I'm a vegetarian and I can't imagine ever eating a steak or some other dead piece of flesh. Shop around Whole Foods or some other natural grocery store and there are tons of ways to get protein without eating meat. They even make meatless hot wings.

The reason that I became a vegetarian is one day as a kid, I saw a chicken wing and it just really hit me that I was eating a piece of an animal. I'd freak out in the meat section of the grocery store. I logged on to PETA, read their information and was a convert ever since. I've been a vegetarian for about 20 years. Love animals, don't eat them!

Anyone thinking about becoming a vegetarian; Good luck! I've never been interested in trying it, but Ive seen a lot of people stop caring and give up. Vegetarians waste time thinking about what they can eat, and by the time they've figured it out there's a veggie burger in their mouth. I think that's breaking the rules isn't it? Although I will say, now is the time to do it. With the technology we've come into there are plenty of protein/iron supplements one could use.
