UCLA at UT

Look on the bright side, UT has the #1 recruiting class in the SEC right now. Once Lane gets his QB, the sky is the limit for this program as long as they can keep the staff somewhat in tact.

 

With or without his NFL prone QB, the only way Lame Kiffin wins an SEC Title is for Tim Tebow to graduate.

So a bunch of unproven rookies are what's making your receiving class better this year? You Vols fans are bad about ASSUMING how good your team will be. At least let them do something before pretending they're upgrades.

And Hardesty is garbage. Why do you guys keep talking about him? Dude's best season so far in FOUR years is 384 yards. Whoooo!! He's a star!!

He'll be lucky to be playing in the CFL next year.

Hardesty is nothing spectacular and has been pedestrian his whole career, but I'd be willing to bet he has a better NFL career than college. He runs well and has a nice frame. With a decent year he may sneak into the 5-6th round and stick on someone's roster.

 

Here's the bottom line. Much of our best talent is very young. While we have some good talent in areas, in others we have walkons or subpar talent. Can't blame the kids because they are just that. Crompton's confidence is fragile at best, but not much behind him. That said, Kiffin and Co. will get talent in there. They had a great class last season considering the late start and this year's class is already one of the best in the country. Now just need to coach them up and get the depth working. We will likely get rocked this weekend, but its the lumps you have to take to climb back up.

 

Brandon Minor has 2 seasons better than Hardesty's best...and i'm not claiming he's greatness. Nice try though.

Hardesty is average and wont even be starting by the end of the year.

 

Where did I say you thought he was greatness? Just thought it was odd/ironic you'd dog Hardesty, but you're obviously quite a big fan of another average running back. He's had 2 seasons better than Hardesty...but he's still average. Nice try though.

Hardesty must be REALLY bad if Bryce is going to take over the starting role...

 

I'm not "dogging" Hardesty really. Just don't get why Vols fans seemed to act like he was a heisman candidate while he's probably the 3rd best back on the team currently.

Minor could actually be good, if given carries. If there's one thing I hate about Rodriguez, it's how he's wasting 2 good backs by not running the ball.

Minor averages about 5 yards per carry over 4 years. Hardesty averages about 3.5 and he's a 5th year senior. lol

 

I've NEVER seen any UT act like Hardesty was or is a Heisman canidate. I think he is a favorite of Vol fans because of all the injuries and sitting on the bench even when he was performing better than other RB. He has hung in there, like alot of players do.
