    Once again:

    Cutcliffe

    vs

    No Cutcliffe

Ainge was TERRIBLE. The guy couldn't even throw screen passes correctly. And ALL UT fans admitted Rick Clausen finally came in and gave the team a boost while Ainge sucked for far too long. Didn't Ainge even lose his job to the guy toward the end? He should have if he didn't.

    per wiki -

"As a senior in 2007, Ainge passed for 3,522 passing yards and 31 touchdowns with 10 interceptions. Despite throwing 513 passes his senior year Erik was only sacked 3 times. He completed 62.6 % of his passes and had a 135.48 QB rating. Ainge was able to achieve this success despite nagging injuries which hampered him all season, including a broken pinky finger on his throwing hand and a shoulder injury on his throwing arm. The strongest statistical game for Ainge was a 52-50 triple-overtime win over Kentucky in which Ainge threw 7 touchdowns and 397 yards and his Bowl win over Wisconsin (Outback Bowl) in which Ainge threw for 365 yards and two touchdowns. Erik also lead Tennessee to a 35-14 victory of Nationally ranked Georgia in which he completed 17 of 22 passes. "

Any QB that came through UT with Cutcliffe at the offensive helm was blessed, but there's no way he would make Crompton half has good as Ainge.

Who is this "Rick" Clausen? Are we speaking about Casey Clausen? Man that kid ...you should never speak his name again ok Deuce?

As for Ainge, he was pretty bad every year except under Cutcliffe, that's obvious. If you could say the same would happen for Crompton, who knows, but Fulmer was a flat out idiot for letting Cutcliffe just walk to a subpar football program in Duke. No sense in it other than just to make a few more $.

Rick was Casey's little brother. Played backup to Ainge.

The sad reality is that Tennessee hasn't had a good, solid QB since Manning.

Don't get me wrong Tee Martin was one of my favorite UT QBs, his heart and desire was amazing. However, the talent that surrounded that team was incredible (Jamal Lewis, Travis Henry, Al Wilson, Peerless Price, Cedrick Wilson, Raynoch Thompson, Shaun Ellis, Travis Stephens, Deon Grant. I see him (Martin) as more of the game manager types, not someone who could take over a game on a consistent basis. However, I can't truly say that about Peyton either at UT, because he definitely struggled with teams like, oh I don't know Florida.

Cutliffe left UT because he wanted to be a HC again. He did a good job at Ole Miss and probably shouldn't have been replaced.

UT has recruited good QBs that just didn't completely pan out. Clausen (casey), Ainge and Crompton were all highly thought of QB out of HS. Ironically, Crompton was the highest rated of them. Kid has physical talents, but just can't handle the mental side.

Kiffin and Co. have shown to be one of the best recruiting staffs in the game so talent will get there.

You're crazy. Colt has a career in football.

And what was really sad was that the Vols got Rick and Casey Clausen just so they could end up getting Jimmy Clausen... and then he doesn't even choose UT. lol Though he probably should have.

:ha: Normally I would think whoever posted this was just joking. But coming from you, I wouldn't be surprised if you actually believed that.
