Now that is something I find VERY hard to believe from watching last night. He had a good game against Florida, but against Texas - well let's face it

    6/11 58 yards 0 TD and sacked 6 times

Alabama isn't going to another NC anytime soon...

Conversely I have a lot of faith in Gilbert, I think if our highly recruited freshmen RB show up we will be in the NC within Gilbert's career.

This game didn't answer any questions and they might as well put an astrick beside the title 2010 National Champions* Bama didn't beat the best Texas team. Although that hit on McCoy was very weak. Texas with McCoy would have been too much for the Tide.

No I don't see an asterisk, like I said the way I feel is that Alabama definitely is a better team than Texas without Colt. Since Colt couldn't play, Alabama won fair and square and I have no problem admitting to that.

Texas barely even made it to the championship to begin with, even WITH McCoy, so this talk of astrick is nonsense. Texas didn't face the best Bama team either so ..enough.

Bama wouldn't have sat on the ball for an entire quarter if it was closer, there's too many what ifs, bama put up 37 points no matter how you slice it.

^Finnegan, 21 of those 37 points came off Gilbert's turnovers. Added to this, Texas went 3 and out most of the first half - and Alabama would get the ball in Texas territory.

I mean the effect of Colt leaving and putting in a true freshman is .. well I mean Texas losing its leading rusher and passer and winningest QB of all time. It transforms our team for the worse even more than the Colts losing Peyton Manning.

Alabama is better than Texas without Colt. No one is disputing that, enjoy your championship.

Alabama basically beat a handicapped kid in a fist fight.

Ok, good that you won. But for almost losing, we're still laughing at you.

Empty victory. This is sorta like if the Colts lost the Superbowl with Painter playing QB... would anyone care about who beat them? Makes it worthless.

It's not alabama's fault that the kid goes out after being hit ONCE, maybe get a tougher qb? If it was a dirty hit you'd have a case, but the kid was weak and gave up, that's not Bama's fault. You guys act like Texas didn't limp into the championship game themselves..barely beating Nebraska..

No one is saying it's Alabama's fault that he got hurt.

Everyone IS saying that they probably would have lost without that fortunate injury.

Take it for what it's worth...

And the same would be true if Ingram was hurt on the first series and didn't play again. No one would give Texas full credit after that if they almost lost, either.
