I wish they'd add Brandon Graham, myself, but this may suggest openly that Wilson, Williams and Mays are serious first round contenders. I know people suggest these conversations mean nothing, but Chris Johnson was the first player they spoke to at the Combine in 2008, so I don't write off these sorts of things.

I'm sure they're talking with a lot of prospects, doesn't mean we're getting any of them. You're right thou, don't over look these conversations they're having this week. And no surprise either that they're looking at defense for that first pick of theirs.

I like Dan Williams, but I certainly hope we don't get another DT (unless it's Suh :ha:). We should resign Brown and we have Jones and Marks, who are both young and still improving. DE, CB, and LB are our major needs.

I like Mays to play OLB, especially since we play Peyton twice a year (Mays should be better than the average LB at coverage since he's played S and is so fast). He's got the physical tools, no doubt. And he would have been a top 10 pick last year, so it'd be good value.

Haven't heard/seen much of Kyle Wilson, but apparently he's having a good Senior Bowl week so far. As long as he's a good CB I don't care, but I hope we don't take a huge risk and reach for him too much.

Oh, we will. Don't you worry. We will.

Just kidding. I guess the guy that worries me the most of the three potential first rounders is Mays. He's clearly weak in coverage as a safety, as he looks to make the big hit, and I wouldn't make it a foregone conclusion he's going to excel as a linebacker. Thomas Davis did it, I suppose, but it doesn't mean everyone can. There's a lot of intricacies to reading and reacting as a linebacker, and playing gaps, and I don't know how smart he is at that. It's definitely a huge boom or bust proposition with him at linebacker, and as a safety, he's better suited to play strong safety. Thus, as long as Hope is a returning starter, Mays would not be an immediate contributor. I don't like that idea. If he plays LB, would he not probably be the weakside linebacker? Then where does McGrath go when he eventually plays? Back to the middle where he played in college, moving Tulloch to the strong side? Do you play Mays in the middle and just have three 235 lb linebackers? Magic 8 Ball sez: "Future Is Uncertain. Ask Again L8r." No sir. I don't like it.

Brown will be an RFA with no new CBA, so I guess he does get re-signed, but the Titans could try to move him with a tender offer. I don't know why they would, but it's possible. Well, I guess because it's cheaper, that's the answer. Which would mean Brown may not be around long-term, and so there is room for improvement at the position. Besides, I think both DT and DE could be upgraded regardless.

Taylor Mays huh? I wonder if that means they want to move Griffin to corner? IDK.

I guess that is possible. His shoulder is getting destroyed at safety, but I'm not sure that improves our coverage ability per se. Griffin can play the bump and run though, and Hope was a FS at Pittsburgh at one point. I'd just bet that either Finnegan or Griffin would get clobbered by Mays at some point, though, which would be just as funny as it would be horribly sad.

Just recall they talked to Chris Johnson first in 2008, Gunny. At least at the Combine.

Fortunately, we'll be able to add these visits to the Combine and visit-to-Nashville interviews.

No, it's not entirely accurate, of course, but can be telling.

I won't totally write these talks off because as GLinks mentioned we talked to CJ in the same way too.

I wouldn't mind seeing us taking a CB with our 1st pick, but I'm greedy and want that pick to be used on someone who will come in early and play often. Not some player who might turn into a contributor. Even using that pick to trade for a big time vet would be cool with me.

Brandon Graham doesn't talk to teams.

    He just murders their backfield.
