I've said it before. Mallett is a stud. He has a HUGE arm and is 6'7. He reminds me of Roethlisberger a whole lot and that has seemed to turn out ok for the Steelers 2 rings later.

But seriously, 2 questions here. 1) Is there ANY chance we actually draft a QB? 2) Should we hope for a losing record so we have a higher pick so we can choose the guy we want?

I'd almost sacrifice this season, since it's obvious we're not going to the playoffs anyway, so we could get a true franchise QB.

I want Ryan Mallett, or Andrew Luck however I think Luck will be gone too early.

This draft will be somewhat heavy on QBs depending on what underclassman come out.

Possibly: Newton, Mallett, Moore, Luck, Locker

This IMO this is the year to rebuild at the QB position. The future is now.

I agree but unless something happens Luck is going first as far as QB's anyways, and Newton is he even coming out this year? If he is I doubt he goes high, and I sure as hell don't want him.

Locker has to come out. Newton probably will, especially with all these allegations coming out. Luck has said he wants to earn his degree, he's 50/50. Mallett will most likely come out (90/10). Christian Ponder can enter the draft, but I doubt he will. Same with Blaine Gabbert. There are late round QBs we could develop, like Pat Devlin, Colin Kaepernick, Greg McElroy, and Ricky Stanzi.

Ponder is a senior, so teams will be able to draft his rights, it's just a matter of whether he wants to continue his education. He's currently working on his MBA.

Jake Locker = Big Slow Tebow.

    No mention of Case Keenum?

Mallet I think will be much like Stafford. A much better pro than college player. He rarely impresses me and chokes often, but I could see him being good in the NFL.

Cam Newton - You guys better be joking. The GENERIC Vince Young? He'll never play QB in the NFL. Might as well start talking about drafting Denard Robinson.

Luck - Wont be available more than likely.

Ponder - Smart kid. He'd study and put in the work... He seems to have the skill. He may be my favorite of the likely candidates.

Scott Tolzien? No mention of him yet, and I think he's solid.

Isn't Keenum eligible for another redshirt? I thought he was staying for another year. And Locker isn't another slower Tebow. He actually has the tangibles that Tebow lacked, he's faster, stronger arm, much better feet. He may not have had the production people were expecting, but he's still a first round franchise QB.

I don't really like any of these guys outside of Luck. I think we'd be better off trading for a guy like Kolb or signing a solid vet, getting haynesworth back, firing Cecil and revamping the D.
