Thank you....I was beginning to wonder if this only operates like this where I have worked.

And I will stop, and accept it like you say...no sense in me continuing to beat my head against this wall.

 

LOL, I have multiple years of management experience. I know who the owner is and what they can do, which is anything the law allows. VPs, Managers, etc, work to futher the owner's enterprise. When they don't get the best from their teams they get replaced. A Sales Manager who is caught disinsitivising his top Salesman in a sales business absolutely is subject to being tossed in favor of the real meal ticket.

As someone else has explained, the NFL is part of the entertainment business and is run in much the same way. The HC is the Director, the players are the actors/talent. When the player is a "Star", i.e. the designated face for the franchise by virtue of draft position, the Director has to work to make the star look good and pull off the role; it is not his job to choreograph the scenes so that someone else can always steal the scene, or upstage the star or cut his best scenes so that his part is diminished. That's what Fisher has been doing. It's the opposite of the Director's proper role. And, btw, in the entertainment business, producers are just as apt, if not more so, to replace the Director vs replacing the "star".

 

Talk about LOL....comparing this to making a movie....give me a break.

But, just for the sake of argument here, lets use this analogy.

So, what you are saying, if a Director gets fired by the producer on a set in which the "Star" never shows up on time, constantly creates a drama on the set, then rushes off of the set when the Director gets in his face, that there will be multiple credible Directors chomping at the bit to work with this actor/producer duo??? That is my point...but, since I am not a movie production expert, I may be misreading motivations of prospective Directors.

You are 100% right. Fishers job is to get the best out of his players. Can anyone give me one example of Fisher doing this for VY. As a matter of fact, I can give you example after example of Fisher going out of his way to prevent VY from growing as a QB. I also can show you an example of two interviews Fisher did one week apart when we first got Randy Moss. One blaming VY for not getting the ball to Randy Moss and the other him defending KFC for not getting the ball to Randy Moss saying "until you play the QB position in the NFL, nobody should question a QB on why he can't get the ball to a certain player." He follows up saying that "the QB position is the hardest position in all of sports."

Back to my question, can anybody give me one example of Fisher doing anything that would groom VY. Heck if it wasn't for Bud Adams, VY wouldn't have came in on two different seasons to turn the football team around.

That's not an argument its an absurdity. The point is Fisher has not acted in a manner, over-all, consistent with putting out a full effort to put this player in the best position to use his talents. It's pretty much been the opposite of that. The only exception was his rookie year when Fisher pretty much let him play once the regular play broke down. He didn't micro-manage everything because he knew there was no point since the rookie knew so little about the NFL game. But, since year two its all been about converting Young from playmaker to game manager in a secondary role supporting the run game and defense.

And before we move away from movie comparisons. An Executive Producer would also fire a Director for conducting a campaign to disparage the reputation of the movie's star through the press. Harming the box office value of the star, upon which the movie's success depends, would be insubordination of the highest order.
