Jones could definitely play DE in the 3-4. He plays the 3 technique right now, and he's undersized. Perfect combination for 3-4 DE. Brown could arguably also play 3-4 DE. We don't have pass rushers who can cover, let alone LB who can cover. That's the main problem.

    This is what I want:

    1st round: CB
    2nd round: QB
    3rd round: LB
    4th round: OG/OC
    4th round (comp): DE
    5th round: Power RB
    6th round: DT
    7th round: OT
    7th round (comp): LB

I'm guessing we'll get a 4th and 7th comp pick this year. I also think we'll pickup Albert Haynesworth when he's released, that's why we don't take a DT earlier. I'm hoping for Patrick Peterson or Prince Amukamara with our #1 pick. Our passing D was very week last year, Cortland got burnt alot and Verner/McCourty are just average.. we need a legit playmaking shutdown corner. 2nd round QB is needed, someone like Locker or Mallett will fall and we'll pick them up. 3rd round LB, we already have 3 decent starters (if we re-signed Tulloch). However LB depth is always needed and Witherspoon got worse every game. 4th round OG/C, our o-line stuggled alot. Matthews and Velasco looked decent, Amano is horrible and Harris is a FA. We'll also get a 4th round DE with our comp pick, i'm hoping we resign Babin and we have Morgan. 5th round, a true power back like Helu from Neb or Payne from VA. Notice I didn't take a SS, which we need. But we have Robert Johnson and Myron Rolle who need to be given a shot, this will be Hopes last year. If Rolle and Johnson struggle we can take a SS early next year, and this years safety class is weak.

Pretty much agree with everything you said. Also like the Herzlich pick in the 3rd. The only problem is, you and I may be thinking ideally here. Realistically, I don't see Locker or Mallett being there at the top of the 2nd. Teams like Arizona, Buffalo, or Cincinnati could take them at the top of the 2nd also. And, I have this bad feeling Peterson and Prince won't be there for us at #8. Who knows though, we may get lucky.

I think ARZ will take a 1st round QB. Buffalo I think is happy with Fitz. Cincy def. could take a QB.

I agree with most of this, except that Mallett will be available in round 2. QBs with his arm strength and resume just do not slide that far. To add a sleeper as a power back, Robert Hughes from Notre Dame in round 7. I also like Casey Matthews from Oregon as a LB in round 4 or so.

I have a tough time picking between CB and DE. I think Peterson goes top 3 and Amukumara might be available but then it's tough to pick him over Dareus or Quinn. Right now I would want Dareus/Quinn over Amukumara.

Between DL and CB my big board goes like this:

    #1: Patrick Peterson
    #2: Nick Fairley
    #3: Da'Quan Bowers
    #4: Prince Amukamara
    #5: Marcell Dareus
    #6: Robert Quinn

I agree with that. If Dareus stats were up a bit more I would think people would rank him higher. Denver really needs help at CB and Buffalo will go defense so we're looking at 4-6 possibly being available for us because Bowers will be gone too.

But, do we want another 3 technique DT? If we don't sign/trade for Haynesworth, I'd be more inclined to reach for Paea than Dareus. We need that 1 technique DT to stuff the run. I've always felt, especially with the way Washburn coaches our DL, that our DT should be the run stuffers, and our DE should be pure pass rushers.

    DT? DE? CB? QB?
