What's the point of a reboot if they're going to look exactly the same?

You know Spiderman 3 sucked as much as you thought it did when they opted to reboot the franchise rather than make another film.

What is it these days with the whole "teenage" super hero? Spider-man, Scott Pilgrim, X-Men: First Class, etc...

Do these studios learn NOTHING from Nolan and to some extent, Favreau? These films, no matter how absurd the plot may be, can be made into something meaningful and relevant. Sadly, the studio heads are more concerned with the quality of the t-shirts they manufacture rather than the films they produce. I mean, they're making Ant-Man. Enough said.

Take out the god-awful dance scene and Sandman (let's be honest, no one cared about him or his daughter, everyone was anticipating Venom's entrance), and make Venom the main villain, and Spider-Man 3 is a good movie.

I don't doubt that but also they want to keep these movies pure comic book movies. The Dark Knight was amazing, but it was not a pure comic book movie and should not be labeled as one, Nolan put his own spin on it and changed it into a crime thriller.

Except for how bad Venom was in that movie.

    It was horrific.

I hope you don't mean the special effects because he looked great (although you can tell they were really conservative with him, did they even show his signature tongue?), and he never had a fair chance seeing it was obvious he was never supposed even be in the movie and they only threw him in there at the last second so fans would shut up. His transformation was about as bad as you can get but that was due to his sub plot being rushed with no real direction. If they actually had a plan for him and didn't waste their time on Sandman, Venom would have worked.

I disagree. Topher Grace as Venom? The screenplay was AWFUL. I was laughing hysterically by the end of the movie.

Yeah, Spiderman 3 had more than a few problems to simply be fixed by "remove dancing scene (which made the film SLIGHTLY enjoyable and awkward) and Sandman (who was the only interesting part of the whole movie)".

This movie was a disaster of epic proportions. The plot was written by some mouth breather on the internet who wanted to stick Venom in, and because of it, made little to no sense. There were too many moving parts, and none of them really worked. The direction and tone of the film was so un-even and bi-polar it was hard to ever allow the viewer a consistent mood. Which is it Reimi, is this supposed to be funny, or over-the-top melodrama meant to be serious?

Oh, and Venom sucked in this. Grace was perhaps the worst comic villain I've personally seen on the big screen.
