I am thinking about getting this. I am downloading the demo on XBOX at the moment, but I hear it is the best basketball game out.

I don't know whether to get it on PS3 or 360. The advantage of PS3 is that it has 3D and Move support but it's sold out everywhere I looked at the moment and the place I get it online sells it really cheap has sold out of the PS3 version so if I like the game and like the 360 version (just to do with the controller) I might get it on 360.

    Thoughts on the game?

It's hands down the best basketball game I've ever played. It's the first bball game I've been truly hooked on. The My Player mode is sooooooo much fun. I can almost guarantee you won't regret buying it.

I have it on PS3 but could care less about 3D or Move so I can't comment on those aspects of the game.

Yeah the 3D and Move support is not the selling point, more of a additional I am willing to try. It's more the controller comfort, I am more comfortable with PS3 vs 360 (but I will test the 360 demo).

My other concern is as with other sports games, does it eventually get too easy that you demolish teams and it gets boring?

Trust me, the last thing you need to worry about with 2K11 is being bored. I'm sure at a certain point you will "master" it and some of the challenge will be gone. But there's plenty to keep you busy in the meantime. Unlike EA and their half-assed efforts with Madden, 2K Sports really pulled out on the stops on this one. My Player and Jordan Challenge alone are worth the price tag.

I cannot wait for 2K to get back into the NFL world.

Sounds like I am sold. I'll give the xbox version a go and see how we do.

I think everyone's still stuck in 'anything 2k does is better because it's 2k and that's what I'm supposed to say' mode, but when I was going to buy one or the other- watching videos made Live 10 the choice.

2k may be more realistic, but they can't seem to figure out how to make players not move like robots. That irks me.

But now that Live went to that whatever game it is... 2k11 is probably the right buy.

I'll go as far as to say that it's the best sports game ever made. The demo doesn't really show the insane amount of details this game has.

Definitely the 360 version if you have the choice. The graphics are better polished and there's hardly any aliasing visible compared to the PS3.

The AI in this game is pretty good. You actually have to play the game as a simulation in order to win... call plays, pass the ball around, find mismatches, etc. You'll have quite a challenge if you play on the hardest difficulty with the simulation sliders.

    Sounds good.

I am only choosing between 360 and PS3 simply because of the controller. If I am happy with the 360 controller and layout, I will get it for that.

I've been to 5 EB Games and a few other stores and it is no where to be seen.

It's a ton of fun, I'm not a huge basketball game but I've played this a lot more than madden.
