Phil Taylor played 4-3 at Penn State, and did a good job. Everyone was VERY excited about his progress there. He just couldn't keep from getting arrested...

Aldon Smith missed three games due to injury and played the last half of the season hurt. He looks like a better version of Jason Pierre Paul, and sounds like his IQ is a hundred points higher. He's almost identical size with Morgan and I have a feeling he's going to blow up the combine. He may be the BPA at 8 by the time of the draft... time will tell.

but at the #8 pick it would be to big of a risk he is projected as a late 1st to mid 2nd

unless we trade back.....but i dont think it would be good having brown over jones as jones was our best dt last year and i think is our best still imo

I LOVE Martez Wilson (illini fan)

6'4 250, decent speed, great tackler, he can play any LB spot in the 4-3. 111 tackles and 4 sacks just this year. With all that being said, he's no worth a 1st round unless its 20+. Illini changed their D twice while he was there, so he can play anywhere.

I'm hoping he falls to us in the 2nd round. It would be risky though if we're high on him. Any of the teams before us in the 2nd could use Martez.

My dream draft is still this:
    1st round - DaQuan Bowers
    2nd round - Martez Wilson
    3rd round - DeAndre McDaniel

Jones does the exact same thing Brown does only better. Both are penetrating one gap DT's that jump the snap count and penetrate before the OL has a chance to block them. The issue with both of them is while they penetrate they do not collapse the pocket. We need someone who is going to take the OG/C and shove him into the QB. Otherwise a pocket savvy QB can step into the pocket and mitigate the pressure provided by our DE's.

While we put up gaudy sack number our DL was unable to sustain pressure though out the entire game. If our team decides to keep Jones at DT and resign Babin I hope we trade Brown for a 3rd or 4th and grab Taylor.

Morgan/Jones/Taylor/Babin makes for a very strong unit.

CB or DT are you kidding me!

CB and DT are our biggest need, REALLY "Tina Fey" REALLY "Jimmy Fallon"

Out biggest need by far is QB but there is not one I would take with the first pick.

Oh and in case you hadn't notice but every TE in the league looked like a superstar when they played us last year!

Let me say this very loud so everyone can hear me...

WE NEED A LINEBACKER THAT KNOWS HOW TO COVER A TE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My 1st pick would without a doubt be a cover LB, I would even be willing to trade up if I had to for the VON MILLER kid!

How many Linebackers did we have in the PROBOWL this year? Zero!

We did get sacks and penatration with the D-Line and thats why a DE named Jason Babin went to the PROBOWL!

We must draft a LINEBACKER, case in point

How many times was our pressure no existent this year? Many.

How many times were we CONSISTENTLY applying pressure to the QB throughout the coarse of and entire game? Never.

When was the last time we had a top ten defense? 2008.

When was the last time we had a defensive tackle that could collapse the pocket? 2008.

When did our defense start going down hill? 2009.

What was the only change from 2008 to 2009? Hayneworth (previously mentioned pocket collapsing DT)

All great defenses are built on pressuring the QB. Eve with Babin's gaudy sack number there were many times last season when opposing QB's stepped up into the pocket and picked us apart. If you go Taylor in the first (after we trade down) and then go Carter in the second (OLB UNC) you can fix our defese by adding a pocket collapsing NT and an athletic linebacker that can run with TE's

Rather have an OLB than MLB (of course only if Tulloch comes back).
