The Usual Suspects - I can't even consider this a good movie.
Lord of the Rings trilogy - I never fall asleep in movies. I fell asleep in all three.
    Requiem for a Dream
    Pulp Fiction
    Reservoir Dogs
    Scarface
    Sin City
    300
    Fight Club
    No Country for Old Men
    Fargo
    Avatar
    The Dark Knight
    The Big Lebowski
    Animal House
    Caddyshack
    American Beauty
    Wall Street
    Heat
    The Sixth Sense

Oh no! I'm hating on the Coen Brothers!!! :grrr: :hang: I just think they get too much credit for good movies; not great masterful films. Oh no! I'm hating on Quentin Tarantino!!! Blasphemy! :scared:

I didn't really put these in any sort of order though I can honestly say that I didn't even like The Usual Suspects, so it has to be at the top of my list. I will likely edit this soon and try to put in the best order possible. I know there's also tons of overrated movies I've seen that I'm forgetting about, but I'll remember sooner or later. I will add as soon as I think of them.

Overall, this is a very, very short list. I have yet to see many "classic" movies... probably out of fear that they'll be overrated. Seems more than likely. Please feel free to criticize me, add to the list, make your own (better) list, etc. I'm sure this will certainly stir up some controversy between a hanfull of you.

I agree with a couple - but there are some legitimate greats in there.
Where's your "all time greatest" list (and if The A Team is in it you are automatically DQ'd)

Haha you and The A Team.

I never said it's in my top list of movies... EVER. I just said I enjoyed it. Naming the greats is harder than naming the overrated. Perhaps I should've done a Most Overrated/Underrated Thread.

List six or seven favs - if only to justify your disappointment list..

agreed. Would like to see your favorites list.

I know people who value my opinion on movies specifically because we like the exact opposite things. Me thinks RSB could be that way for me

I don't necessarily have a top list of my favorite movies. If I had to answer that question quickly without really thinking about it, I'd say:

    Into the Wild
    Se7en
    Midnight Express
    Memento
    Casino
    Goodfellas
    The Departed
    Forgetting Sarah Marshall
    I Love You, Man
    Office Space

    so Scorsese rocks - agreed

One thing I noticed from OP was that a lot of those movies, not all, are 'epic'. Slow paced and taking time to tell the story. You would hate Akira Kurosawa.

Agreed on a couple again.. Though Departed is at the bottom of my Scorsese list. I likes my Scorsese meal peppered with a heavy dose of DiNero (or DDL)..
