Best scene in any Lynch movie. Seriously. This is David Lynch at his finest.

I appreciate the analysis oneton. I've often challenged the merits of Taxi Driver, yet that's the first time someone actually bothered to give me in-depth reasons instead of simply scoffing at the notion.

Me, I didn't like it. I never will like it. Though I don't particularly think it's due to my age as someone alluded to, I remind you, a few posts ago I was referring to a movie from the 40s in Dorian Gray...

I'd just chalk it up to low movie IQ on my part. I guess if at a base level a movie doesn't entertain me I ultimately consider it flawed. But odds are, if there is such a strong following for it, it must be true.

...After all, my favourite movie is Ghostbusters. I don't think people would ever claim that to be the best movie of all time. Heh.

Dude, Ghostbusters is pretty flawless, though.

It's been years since I've seen Ghostbusters. I gotta get on that.

If you want to see a movie where all things are bad (therefore making them good) check out A Polish Vampire in Burbank, but don't say I didn't warn you.

Taxi Driver was released on blu-ray on Tuesday.

I'm going to pick it up soon... I read some reviews on it. It's supposedly one of the best, if not the very best transfer of all time.

I haven't read any reviews yet but I'm sure it's the cleanest transfer ever. But best is probably subjective. A lot of film purists hate most HD transfers because of grain loss. I'm somewhere in the middle myself.

I don't like Blu-ray. What's the point? I think it's hilarious when films like "I Spit on your Grave" and the original "Last House on the Left" are transferred. That just seems counter-productive to me. They are supposed to look like chit. That's the point.

Sure, it's cool to watch them in high quality but it didn't do anything for me. The two best transfers I've ever seen are "There Will Be Blood" and "2001: A Space Odyssey". Those were crazy...other than that, who really cares?

I'm a bigger fan of HD DVD (joke).
