In 1997 Drew Brees completed 44% of his passes while at Purdue.

Locker has been my first choice all along, glad to see the Titans are interested.

That was Brees freshman year (only 43 attempts). He was over 60% the other 3 years (over 500 attempts each year). Nice try but meaningless point.

Here's another name then, Chad Henne. Henne has had two seasons in which he failed to complete 60% of his passes while at Michigan.

Do we really want to be comparing our possible future QB to Chad Henne? Smh

Notable QB's of the 2000's that never passed for at least 60% in a college season:

    David Garrard
    Brett Favre
    Mike Vick
    Steve McNair
    Trent Green
    Drew Bledsoe
Kurt Warner (60% in freshman/sophmore seasons limited attempts, 8/13 and 15/25)

Not bad company. Locker reminds me a lot of John Elway, I'd be more than happy with the pick at #8.

You didn't get my question. I meant a QB that never completed 60% at least once.

Good research. The ones that stick out for me are Garrard, Green, and Warner. They've shown the ability to be accurate in the league, which is very possible to do. I just find it unlikely for Locker. I found this on another forum. Each side of the 60% has busts, but look how many successful QBs there are on the <60% side.

No, which is why I mentioned Drew Brees first.
I guess I did, but you made it like completing 59% of passes is an awful thing. My goal was to show you that isn't a telling sign that a QB won't be any good..

You're right, 60% isn't some all-defining measure of a QBs success. It's just a measuring stick I use. In fact, Locker was 7 completed passes away from getting 60% in 2009. I just think that Locker will never be an Aaron Rodgers, Drew Brees, Matt Ryan, Philip Rivers type QB. His ceiling is more realistically like Kerry Collins, stats wise.
