I personally love HD. But on the other hand I don't want a classic like The Godfather or something to be completely cleaned up and look like it was shot 5 years ago either. I actually have read a review of the Taxi Driver BD since my previous comment and it seems they did a really good job with it. Grain's still present.

I'm with you though on things like I Spit On Your Grave getting the HD treatment. Probably just more of a cash grab than anything else. That's like Clerks getting a BD release. The thing was shot on freaking 16mm. What's even the point?

How can you not like blu-ray when it's superior quality?

    3:10 to Yuma
    Band of Brothers
    Casino
    Casino Royale
Close Encounters of the Third Kind
    Fight Club
    The Hurt Locker
    Inception
    Inglourious Basterds
    Iron Man
    Iron Man 2
    The Kingdom
    Man on Fire
    The Matrix
    Minority Report
    No Country for Old Men
    Office Space
    The Prestige
    Remember the Titans
    Saving Private Ryan
    Se7en
    Serenity
    The Shawshank Redemption
    Star Trek

Those are some of the blu-rays I own that look absolutely stunning. If you were to compare them to their DVD release, you'd never want to watch a DVD again.

Taxi Driver obviously won't be the best looking blu-ray out there, but in comparison to what it originally looked like, you can't do a better job (from what I've read).

I haven't watched any of the movies you listed. Sad, huh?

This will shock you. The last movie I went to see was Nutty Professor haha.

Fast Times at Ridgemont High and Howard the Duck are great movies :)

From which list? The overrated movies or my blu-ray list?

Either way, that truly is depressing, dude. You're missing out on some fantastic movies.

Get Netflix and just start knocking off a movie or two a night if you have the time.

The Nutty Professor was honestly one of the first movies I ever remember seeing. My dad and I watched it in a hotel room when I was 6 years old, followed by Speed. Lol gotta love me watching R rated movies when I was 6.

That movies doesn't receive very high praise, so it can't really be considered overrated. Not many people like it that much.

That's because it's Star Wars. Aside from (arguably) Episode III it they're not considered great movies.

Call it blasphemy, but I honestly should've thrown the entire Star Wars franchise in my overrated list.

Look, I recognize them as classics, acknowledging their influence and significance in film, but they're overrated. I have no intentions whatsoever of watching any of the six films again (until I have children of my own).
