I see Lebron as Antonio Gates playing basketball.

Like literally... if Antonio Gates went back to basketball and played in the NBA today- he'd be Lebron by next year.

    Freak athlete. Nothing more.

Can't wait til he loses a step. His numbers will completely crash when he cant drive/dunk over and over.

No way man, Gates is too short and doesn't have the range to be LeBron James. And Antonio Gates isn't a freak athlete. He's IMO nothing more than a LB with great hands. He's a normal sized TE for the most part, and is great because he creates space for himself.

And he can't be LeBron James 2.0 either, only the real LeBron James gets to travel and still hold the ball.

Your analogy would work...except Gates doesn't pass better than most PG's.

LeBron throws one of the fastest passes in the game, always crisp and on target, off the charts court vision, and when he had to play point after Mo and Delonte got hurt, he averaged over 10 assists a game.

*edit* LeBron's numbers as starting PG last season in 11 games:

    30.1 ppg
    8.5 rpg
    12.1 apg

    1:47 isn't even human.

His court vision is up there with Magic, Magic was just more creative, but at the end of the day who cares, an assist is an assist.

But he still doesn't pass better than most PGs. Granted- his job isn't to pass.. it's to score. Just as most PGs job isn't to score, but to pass.

He passes great for a big guy. But so did Shaq- who really cared?

Except one can actually play point and averaged 12 assists while doing so...while the other can point for a couple of plays in an all star game. But hey, to Deuce, it's all the same.

He passes well for anyone, not a big guy, wouldn't matter if he's 6'8" or 5'8".

Seeing how his playmaking skills is half of his game, his job is give him teammates open shots when he's not scoring. He's a point guard in a defensive end's body...not exactly most players.

I was never totally wowed by McGrady. He'd dribble the clock down to 4, dump the ball off to some out of position teammate, they'd throw up some crap shot, then people would say how McGrady never got help.

    Lebron is amazing.
