I would argue against the ACC putting out as much talent (this past draft the SEC had 38 players drafted, the ACC 35, they were the top 2 conferences in that regard though). In fact, the SEC has had more draft picks than any other conference in 12 of the past 14 seasons. But, lets assume that is true. Surely you won't argue that the ACC has as good of teams as the SEC, despite the fact you think they put out as much talent. So if two conferences have similar talent and similar recruiting areas, why does one produce 5 straight national champions, 3 out 5 Heisman winners, while the other is regarded as possibly the 5th best BCS conference? It has to go to the SEC schools willing to put more money into their coaches than the other conferences, would you not agree?

As I have already pointed out, UNC, UVA, GT (the 3 best public Universities in the conference, and 3 of the best in the country) lower their admissions standards for athletes, just like other similar schools like Florida, UCLA, Cal, and Michigan. Schools like DUke, Wake, Vandy, etc do not do that, and outside of Wake being a decent program, always struggle on the field. So, you can't really argue that is the reason.

What you can argue, is that of 20 highest paid coaches in the country, the SEC has 7 of them. The Big 12 has 3, THe Big 10 has 4 (though this list is from April, and Tressel is one of those 4), ACC 3, Pac 10 3. I think the answer is simple. THe SEC schools are more willing to pay big money for their coaching talent, and at the college level the coaches are ultimately more important than the players.

What did the OSU grad say to the Michigan grad?

"Welcome to McDonalds. May I take your order please?"

It's totally being objective but I knew someone would bring that up. First off just watch Newton in the NFL and that will simply build on the fact that he's overrated and will continue to be exposed.

Secondly it's just the eye test. Was Newton ever a great passer? What happened in that game? He threw bad balls, under threw, didn't show good pocket awareness. All you have to do is watch him and you can see he can't be an effective passer. What Carolina was thinking is beyond me but he's their problem now.

Now lets look at the OSU team. They steamrolled every team they played and had roughly 14 starters and key reserves drafted. It's just the eye test, if you don't see it then you're just lying to yourself. Hence the reason why a friend of mine who is a big Florida fan could even admit to this. If you can't well then that's your problem keep being a blind dolt like Got and waving the banner of the SEC and getting nothing to show for it except another teams success.

Hey an interchangeable joke that's been beaten to death! Do more please.

What did the Michigan grad say to everyone he ever saw? "Spare change?"

Besides, Michigan fans aren't really in any position to be talking smack and seeing as how I'm guessing 80% of people from Detroit would be thrilled to work at McDonalds now I'd say the joke should be reversed, but that's just me.

Hilarious. A guy does nothing but ride the coat tails of the SEC but hates Pittsburgh who's in the AFC. Come on where's your conference pride man?

Before you give me your recycled answer about how it's not the same thing, it may not be the same thing but it's still equally stupid.

The SEC and brilliant are two words that should never be put in the same sentence.

Newton is extremely underated, even the brightest NFL minds say he has every tool to be a good pro QB, just depending on his work ethic, which you can say about anyone.

And Michigan is a far better school than OSU, that isn't really debatable.

    Somewhat misleading stats.

The SEC has on average .5 more drafted players than every other conference per year. Not such a big deal. Especially when most are overhyped and never pan out.

Now, think about that then realize they have more teams than most conferences.

The ACC puts out better talent than anyone though. Look at the NFL... they're by far the elite there.

As far as the SEC spending big money on their coaches... true...

and they spend even more on their players.
