yes he does, and I have every right to point at his contract and declare 'honor your word CJ'

had he of not signed the extension he still would have contract issues cause he signed a 5 year contract as a rookie IIRC. But of course that put more immediate $$$s into his hands. He has always seen his contract as a short term deal and that is a mistake on his part.

Usually, with most backs, I would say "running backs are interchangeable" but CJ2K is not "most" backs. He is a generational talent, meaning we haven't seen anything like him in a really, really long time, nor are we likely to see another one in the near term. He has that extremely rare thing, SPEED. He is not the usual track guy that plays football but rather he is a football player with legit track speed that actually transfers to the football field. 4.24! For that reason alone I would pay him whatever that number is. Is he better than AP, depends, he certainly has put up as good if not better numbers, and he doesn't fumble. Look everybody says that running backs get hurt and they do, but CJ2K doesn't really get hit that much, he is small and has a knack of making the defender take bad angles so that he doesn't get blown up very often. Think about it this way, even after CJ2K does get hurt and(most every back does get an injury eventually) loose a step someday, he will still be the fastest guy on the field. He is that fast. Make him happy, make him a TITAN for life. This is like arguing whether you should pay Gale Sayers, Eric Dickerson of course you do.

Heres the way I look at it.

give the man what he wants sign him for like a 3 or 4 year deal around roughly around 35 to 45 million.

He's worth the money, he's the face of the Tennessee Titans. Plus one thing WILL always remain in the NFL. you HAVE to pay you're super star players

And those guys are just as good as CJ.

So why do we break the bank on 1 guy when we could pay less and get similar results.

The whole "honor your contract" argument doesn't hold up when owners and GM's are cutting good players every 15 minutes. We hear about tons of "cap casualties" who all have good working contracts, but it's the NFL so nothing is guaranteed. C.J. is due roughly $800K for being the best RB in football, that's just wrong.

Totally agree....I would go higher on annual pay to negotiate down length of contract. For the next 3 years he is absolutely worth it, plus he has earned it already IMO.

After 3 years I think he will fade. However, right now he is worth it.

No you don't. Your not his agent and your not Chris Johnson.

If you really believed what you said, I don't ever want to hear you ask for a raise. In your life. Honor what you agreed to.

Don't be ridiculous. We should be glad we have CJ. Can we stop bashing our best players for once?

Just keep doing your thing CJ!

Pay the man. Yeah we could replace him but CJ is the face of the Titans now and he has definitely earned his pay check.
