Not sure that makes any sense. They're lumped together because they're similar people in different ways. All athletic, two having come from very simplistic offenses (CN-VY), two coming in with pay-to-play scandals (CN-TP), two coming in with awful throwing motions (TP-VY)... the list goes on. In one way or another, every one of these guys are connected. Is it easier because they're black? sure. That doesn't mean it's BECAUSE they're black they're lumped together.

I think it's wrong to lump every white WR like Mariani-Welker-Stokley into one category like they're all the same person. Does anybody care? no. same situation here.

There's a difference between racist and observant.

That's dumb because Jamarcus Russell's name has popped up as well in comparison to these Qbs. He isn't a running QB.

Locker is a running Qb so i can add him to the list?

Ryan Leaf was a drop back pocket passer so every white pocket passer can be lumped in with him?

Leaf, Manning, Brady all the same guy!

I would give up a 7th round. If he makes it through the entire comp draft, and no-one gives anything... i'd take him. But ONLY for a 7th rounder.

I mean, what's the harm? Eagles didn't need Vick.. they have Kolb and McNabb but they still picked him up. That allowed them to trade Kolb for a 2nd and DRC. Chances are the 7th round won't turn into anything (or could be the next Cortland). However, Pryor could be a project.. and develop (personally I doubt it).

He just doesn't fit the Titans. We already have our vet QB in Hass, Locker as our upcoming star... and our career backup thats young in Rusty. We don't need Pryor, I'm sure the Raiders will take him. lol

I'm pretty sure Russell's names comes up because he was the latest top drafted QB who crashed and burned.

    Newton could be the next.

Not because he is similar in style to VY, SCam or Pryor.

Pryor could have an edge because nothing will be handed to him. He will have to go out and earn a roster spot. He will have to take him lumps and work his way up a depth chart if he wants to play in this league. Somebody will take a chance on him and it might pay off.

Pryor will NEVER be a Titan while Munchak is head coach. He doesn't believe in projects, only wants players that can contribute NOW. He axed Donnie Nickey because he is useless to us, kept Tim Shaw because he finds ways to play. Jake Locker will get a chance to sit and learn, but CAN play if we need.

I'd love to see the article comparing Russell somehow to Newton/Pryor/ ESPECIALLY Young. And you said "in comparison to these QBs" so I'd love to see the article lining up these three then somehow Jamarcus Russell for a reason other than the fact Young was a fellow top 1st round bust and Newton seems he may be on track as well. You can't because it's not logical. It's as logical as your harebrained Leaf-Manning-Brady lump, though I'll address that soon.

Locker is a running QB so you can add him to the list of RUNNING QBs, sure. You misread what I wrote.

I said these guys are ALL athletic, 2 of whom have had Pay to Play scandals, two came from awful offense to prepare for pros, 2 have problems off the field.

The idea is that if you said "hey you know that fast QB who had that awful offense to prepare him for the pros," the choices would be narrow, including guys like Young or Newton.

If I said "hey you know that fast QB who got in trouble for that pay to play stuff," the choices would likely be exclusively Newton or Pryor.

If I said "hey you know that fast QB who got in trouble with that off-the-field stuff," you could say Newton or Pryor.

"That fast QB that was really good in college" includes all three (among others obviously).

The idea is that they have a lot of mix-matched similarities and when you add in the fact they're black, people obviously subconsciously find it easier to lump them together, but the reason they're lumped together isn't solely because they're black, 90% of the time race wouldn't even come to mind as to why they're related.

If we were talking about Mexican quarterbacks with several different issues similar among them, I think it would pretty easy to put them together, or Asian cornerbacks.

What you love to do is stretch one point and make it seem as though the other person is crazed.

If Ryan Leaf is a drop-back pocket-passer, he would OBVIOUSLY fit in with other drop-back pocket-passers on principle alone.

If I said SUCCESSFUL drop-back pocket-passers, then you could say he doesn't fit in while Manning, Brees, and Brady remain.

Then you say drop-back pocket-passers who were drafted late in the draft, that would include a slew of people, but only when you stipulate success, would that begin to be more sharply guys like Brady.

I understand you really want to drive racism around on this board for whatever reason, but it really doesn't fit.

You're claiming these people are lumped together as black QBs and that only. You're lying and it's pretty clear, I think even to yourself considering you apparently ignored the rest of my post aside from one sentence.

Did JaMarcus win a title right before he was the first QB taken? Cause that'd be the only way I'd compare him to Cam or Vince.

Jamarcus is nothing like Cam, VY or Pryor.

All three played in different offenses in college with VY and Pryor being the most similar.

Cam played in an offense that left him even less prepared for the NFL than VY or Pryor.

I might take Pryor over Cam...

Jamarcus has no excuse and is just a loser who refused to put in the work.

Duh, people on these boards are lumping them together.

The same poster who compared Cam to Russell on a newer board(XO) just said they are nothing alike.

So people have strung comparisons between Russell and every other QB in those three enough to consider them part of that group?

    Could I see that?
