first rounders are worth more 2011 onward than they were before because of the new contract rules. Brown got a good deal on a disgruntled player. Still first rounders can become Adam Jones or 'the Diva' so Oakland might have the better of it. Wont know for a decade.

Am I missing something? Bengals have done nothing but win since Palmer's departure.

I wouldn't necessarily say The Bengals are a serious contender this year with Balt and Pitt still holding their own but they have drafted extremely well, have the #1 Defense in the NFL, have the most exciting young WR in the AFC and are only weak at a few positions. Mike Zimmer is the real deal.
You're obviously talking without paying any real attention to them. Definitely a team on the way up (and seriously not as much of a punching bag for The Titans and some folks here may suspect in the coming weeks.)

Browns buisness mind paying off big time, never worth a 1st and cond. 1st, Palmer although able to keep the Raiders ticking over is simply a band aid that will keep the Raiders together for a couple of games before once more falling apart.

A bit like Scaub.... Schaub is a band-aid....

I'm aware of AJ Green and the defense they have. But some organizations aren't serious about winning, Cincinnati is one of them, Denver another, Miami another. Sure they're solid up to now, but I feel confident they'll slid as they always do. The culture there can not and will not change til Lewis is booted out.

    Yes.

Your original point is that the Bengals were "winning" (I take the term as Charlie Sheen would not wins&losses) because they were sticking it to Carson Palmer.

I'm saying there is zero benefit to that scenario. They are not better off with a retired player versus a draft pick.

Obviously it's worked out for them with the trade. But based on what you were originally stating, you would say they were "winning" had they turned down the Oakland trade just because they would have continued to stick it to Palmer. That is ridiculous.

Again, a retired player is not worth as much as a draft pick.

Maybe I misinterpreted your original comments and you can clarify.

as per Bengals, yes they have done well so far. But keep in mind they've beaten the Browns, Bills, Jags and Colts. After this weekend they get Titans, Steelers, Ravens, Browns, Steelers... let's check in on them around Thanksgiving

i don't even think they'll win a second game against Cleveland, could easily see Cincy dropping the next 5 games and Dalton will be the but of many NEW Bungal jokes
