This isn't an argument about who's more at fault with the running game, just a comparative to show that this bad stretch isn't a rare thing for a RB to go through, and almost every RB has gone through something similiar.

So many here believe that CJ is done because of a 6 game streak which I think is just ridiculous to say that this early. I've looked up 5 other running backs and all 5 of them have had a similar streak to CJ at the exact same part of the careers.

Jim Brown: 5 games 81 carries 265 yards 2 tds
This was his 3rd year, weeks 2-6

Barry Sanders: 5 games 85 carries, 255 yards, and 1 td
This was in Barry's 4th year, weeks 2-6.

Eric Dickerson: 5 games 95 carries 285 yards 3 tds
This was his 3rd year, weeks 2-6

Walter Payton 4 games, 78 carries 225 yards 2 TDS
This was his 5th year, weeks 11-14

Or what about OJ Simpsons 1974 off year after running for 2000 yards and only running for 1100? he was under 4 ypc for 10 of 14 games, but then came back to run 1800 and 1500 the next two years.

I'm not saying CJ belongs in this group, just that the all time greats have all had similiar streaks, It's a little too early to say CJ is done completely like many are saying.

If the all time greats have had streaks like these, and CJ doesn't fit into that group, then I'm sure the less than great RB's have it happen much more often.

Chris Johnson: 6 games 93 carries 268 yards 1 td

Just to be fair... CJ's current streak is longer than most of those. 6 games of terrible, rather than 3 or 4. I guess the question is when does it go from a streak to a trend? What number?

And I think the telling part, is they all still had TDs. CJ has one TD in 6 games. A 1 yard facedive.

And I wouldn't throw OJs in there. CJs on pace for like 600ish yards this season, lol. Nowhere near 1000.

But yeah, I get what you're saying. Time will tell. Still if he doesn't have at least 800 yds by the time the season's over. I say cut/trade him. If there's any takers.

I hope you're right, and CJ comes back guns blazing

I fear though we'll trade him in the off-season and we'll watch as he racks up 2000yds elsewhere with Munchak scratching his head saying 'why couldn't he do that in Tennessee'

Yea I hope not, I just think when people say "he's done", after a couple games that's just retarded. You think people said the same when all of those dudes had bad streaks as well early in their careers? Who knows, but they came back.

I still say sitting him migh get his @$$ in gear. If you put in a rookie who starts playing well that might embarass/motivate him to get it together.

C.J. did this to himself. He needs to STFU and stop tweeting, stop claiming he's so great, he pisses defenses all around off, just let the league forget about you so you can be back to 2008-2009 form.

Munchak needs to bench him, he's a good player to compliment anyone. Let Ringer/Harper beat the defense down, they'll get yards, then let C.J. sneak in and do what he's paid to do.

In week 6 or 7 for Brown, Sanders, Dickerson, they all looked awful with low yards and a low YPC.

Simpson was awful for an entire year after hitting 2000 before going for 1500 and 1800. He had 10 of 14 games below 4 YPC that year.

My point is in the grand scheme of things this has happened a lot to any great RB and obviously lesser than great RB's if it happened to these guys., so there is still a very good chance CJ can turn it around and be a very good back for us.

yes it's possible CJ turns things around (I see what you are saying)...but I dont care what they did...with those players it was an entirely different league.

You pretty much avoided my argument..this hasn't been a problem for only one or two games...it's about to be mid season and he only has one TD and one game rushing 100 yards.
