I agree about taking a LB early, especially if one falls to us. But IMO the only two worth taking in the first round are Hightower from Alabama and Burfict from AZ ST. Zach Brown scares me because he's only played one year, which means he wasn't good enough to beat out people in front of him for his first 3 years of college. And Kuechly is good but I'm not sold on his speed. I've seen people guessing that he runs a 4.8 or 4.9. I wouldn't mind either Brown or Kuechly in the 2nd or later, just not in the first.

I'm still hung up on Konz in the 1st and Markelle Martin in the 2nd. Although, that could change if we sign someone like Nick Hardwick in FA. Then i'd want DE in the 1st.

I agree we need help at center but there will be someone at 20 with much more value than the highest rated center. Usually the interior guys start going off the board early 2nd round. And though I didn't watch much of Konz play this year, when I did he was unimpressive to me. Got beat more times than I'm comfortable with. I'd much prefer to take the guy from Alabam in the 3rd or 4th.

Vlachos was unimpressive at the senior bowl. From what I read at least. Brewster could be a 3rd rounder. But to get him also with some pass rushers we need to trade back.

Vlachos was much better than Ben Jones the guy from Georgia. He got thrown around during the game. Perhaps this is just a weak year at center?

I didn't pay much attention to the centers in the game, I know they swapped out whoever for Brewster because dude couldn't snap the ball... Yea.. I payed attention to d line.

I agree with a bunch of these points, but I definitely think that the new trend in the NFL are these huge, athletic, pass-catching tight ends. Drafting a replacement for Witherspoon with the speed to cover these TE's would be a smart move. Zach Brown also adds the pass rush factor that we could use.

I don't understand why no one is giving this kid any props. He has rare speed for the position. With how the NFL is evolving we need guys like him on this team, we never been able to cover TE what other linebackers offer this.

only other players I can think of are hybrid safties, like George Iloka from Boise (6-3, 222 lbs, runs a 4.5)

If we go LB in the 1st it needs to be Hightower.
