I think munch gave Amano and Harris the benefit of the doubt coming into this past season but 2 years of stinking is too much to ignore!

At this point, I think we'll see the titans wait and see what they get in the draft before deciding if they need to grab one of the free agent oc. If they got Decastro and konz, could see them going with a new wave in the interior line.

I'm happy they are looking to replace all three interior guys because they all were below avg in the run game last year. If we can replace at least 2 pieces we'll be in a much better situation for cj to have a big year. Replace all 3 and cj should have a mega year! And that should translate to a big year for our starting qb!

If available, I think Decastro would be the best player available. Next would probably be a DT then cb then de. S is hard to gauge because Barron played mostly as an in the box safety so hard to see his coverage skills.

I think the titans want a de/DT or cb in rnd 1 with cb being a longer shot. I'd hope they wouldn't pass on a Decastro because he's a rare player AND we need him!

He gave them to much benefit, since he was the guy coaching them their entire careers!!! To claim them as "failures" would be a indictment on his own coaching....

Don't forget that in the summer teams cut good players. Maybe not good centers, but players that could replace Amano sure.

I'd hate for it to come to that, but I've seen plenty of teams benefit from that type of thing happening.

    Our Answer:

    Ben Jones - Georgia
    6'2 303 - 29 BP - 5.44 40 - 30 1/2 Vert

Solid combine and measureables. 2nd best 20 yrd split for Centers.

Reliable and Durable (3rd all-time at UGA in career starts, 49). Leader on the field, named UGA team captain in '11-'12. SEC Adademic Honor Roll. Rimington Trophy Finalist. ESPN, Yahoo, and Rivals 1st-team All-American. 2nd-Team All-SEC by AP & SEC. Started 10 games as a Freshman, and has started ever since. Jones has got enough size and versatility to play guard as well, if needed. Jones is solid with picking up his blocks and sticking with them, very solid in the run game. He doesn't bull-dozer people over, but puts them in a stand-still. His biggest weakness is footwork, but he's def smart enough to fix that... esp with two HOF OL coaches. He's not "explosive" but VERY smart, efficent, and seals his blocks.

I've seen him projected anywhere from 2nd-4th. I'd be willing to spend a 2nd on him.

I've also thought about us taking Ben Jones some time after our 2nd pick. He'd be an upgrade from Amano for sure. But he's not that great and I'd like for us to land someone that can be good for years. Not so sure BJ can be that for us.

I dunno, he got owned all week during Senior Bowl practices. I think he's pretty damn overrated myself.

The guy for us is David Molk

Phillip Blake would be a good alternative.

I don't think BJ will be "great", but I think he'll be a very good center for years. A big upgrade over Amano, and I don't think he'll be available at our 3rd round pick.

Got owned? I remember watching the practices and him holding his own... here's a comment from one of the best draft sites, DRAFTCOUNTDOWN.com:

"Georgia C Ben Jones may be the type who does everything well but nothing truly great. Technically sound with top intangibles, Jones also displayed some versatility by playing a bit of right guard today. Jones had some great battles with Brandon Thompson, with each winning their fair share of the reps."

    _____________

As many sites say, Ben has all of the tools to be a solid center. Just needs some help with his mechanics... we can help him with that.

Jones probably wont be there after our 2nd pick, but Philip Blake from Baylor could be. He seems like Munchak's type of guy.

You beat me to it. I was going to say the same thing. He looked terrible at the Senior Bowl. Would rather go with Molk or someone else than Jones.
