Whose fault is that? If the person/player is too dumb to take advantage of getting a higher education, that's on him.

That is the universities fault for pushing these kids in the door.

You might read at a 4th grade level but since you can run a 4.3 welcome to the SEC. The kids are being used under the illusion that they are receiving an education. Many never do not graduate and many of the ones that do have little more than a sheet of paper with no real education behind it.

sounds like your issue should be with the players, and not college football.

If the players are too dumb to take advantage of the education offered, that's on them, not the sport.

Do you think the 4th grade reading level kid who runs a 4.3 would get into any college reading at that level? So whats your point? What would banning college football do for them? It would just make it harder on them.

And yeah, many don't graduate, but a lot do take advantage of the education and do graduate.

Well, first off, "many never do not graduate" means that many failed to never graduate. I assume that implies that they graduated. :)

But on a more not-grammar-police note (and to make a comment on the bit about them having little more than a sheet of paper):
The reality of the situation is that they don't really need much of an education to perform a job that requires that sheet of paper. They'll get in the door with that sheet of paper and then get on the job training. Certainly jobs in the sciences or engineering wouldn't be like that, but most things outside of the sciences can be done just as well regardless of how much you actually "learned" in college.

I would. I don't give a sh#t about college football, but would be very interested in an official nfl minor league.

NCAA would have assassins waiting for Goodell if they created some type of farm system.

And for those of you who haven't tried being a student while playing college football, do you have any idea how demanding that is?

For the guys who come in only looking to play football it's not something they're interested in taking advantage of. They're there to do one thing, and it isn't to carry books around.

They're recruited to play football, not take exams.
