Unfortunately, I think we'll miss Finny more than people realize.

I also don't put much stock in to reports about how players are doing in camp. I attend camp every year and get tired of seeing a player do really well in camp, then when the season starts, that player doesn't exist anymore.

I hope our young DB's step up and fill the void that Finny has left.

Frankly, there should be a third option - along the lines of "we are unchanged without Cortland" - because that's what I would have chosen.

I chose "better" because I don't believe we are "worse".

I think it's kind of crazy that just because one of our better/best defensive players signed somewhere else now 3/10 people think we are better without him.

Absolutely not. I like McCourty/Verner, but I like Finnegan/McCourty/Verner far better.

Have you ever heard anything bad about a player during OTA's? Cause I haven't. They're even claiming Ryan Mouton looks great right now, and that's definitely bull.

NO coach is going to crush a guys spirit in June by telling the media how it really is, that would be counter productive to building a solid team if you have a guy worried about just how bad he really is. And also, you can't get a real good idea either because no one is really out there playing football yet. It's a bunch of drills and two hand touch.

But I'm actually very excited to see what Campbell is made of. The guy is 6'2" and runs a 4.3 forty. If he can learn the defense he could be a monster. I mean the range a 6'2" frame gives a CB is insane, add 4.3 speed to that and whoa.

I definitely hear what your saying about camp buzz, but also you can't yet discount what our new coaching staff will handle things. They did a lot of things over season that were very 'un-Jeffish.'

Perhaps the only thing they didn't do was change the OL when it was struggling hard. However, they were still so dominant in Pass Blocking and years past very solid to say the least. I could imagine they wanted an offseason to see how they are gonna handle it. Also, I wouldn't be surprised if they come out the same group - its if their ineffective then we'll see how they handle it.

    ---

Now on to this better without Finny. I voted and stand beside my 'No' without doubt.

Forget all those variables people are saying (i.e. taking his salary using it elsewhere, watching ATV turn into a beast, etc... - not saying that cant happen.) But for real, Finny proved on multiple occasions that he was a Shut Down Corner those years we had a consistent rush.

Can you guys not comprehend that this question has absolutely nothing to do with the contract he signed with the Rams?
