I'd take a picture but it's really not worth one thousand words. I can probably do the idea justice in few hundred or more. I recently wall mounted my 42" Samsung for >$10. Your configuration will vary from mine, but all you need do is measure your machine screw pattern, rectangular, and determine which way to run your 2x4's, vertically, or horizontally, depending upon the location of the inputs, hdmi, usb, TosLink, EC. My TV has threaded metric inserts that accept 8MMX1.25 machine screws. I bought some 2 1/4" hex head shoulder bolts in that threading and some appropriately sized washers, drilled holes through the center broad side of the 2X4 cut 36" in length, 23 1/2 inches apart, that is the horizontal distance between my insert locations on the TV. Before bolting the 2X4 section to the TV, I installed heavy duty screw eyes, 5/16" deep threading, on 16" centers to the narrow side of the 2X4. Finally, I dropped in wall hooks on my wall studs, 3, 16" apart to correspond with the screw eye locations. After bolting my 2X4 assembly to the TV, I hung it from the hooks on the wall. As an extra, I stuck the wires, power, hdmi, EC, inside a section of foam pipe insulation, similar to the polypropylene pool noodles are made of. It doesn't look ghetto fabulous. It looks fine. You can not tell that I did not spend $50 or more on a kit. No, it doesn't swivel but I still have beer money. This might be a tried and true method, I guess, but I felt thrifty and clever and thought I would like to share it with my fellow broke arses on the forum.

I hope you found my post useful.

I sure thought this one would explain that static wall kits were of the devil or caused climate change or fire hazard etc.
    Let's do the math.
-A wall kit is apparently $50 and it takes about an hour* to install, max.
-This alternative costs less than ten, but would take me several hours to sort out.
    - I charge $100 an hour* for work related activities.

At three hours to do the custom job that's $300 or a difference of paying $150 to have the honor of building a wall mount and fiddling with pool noodles.
You lost me at "threaded metric inserts", Jay.

    I am an artist.
