As long as Locker plays like he did last year he will be ok. Dont worry about training camp to much.

You don't know anything about the situations the QB's are being put in during practice, unless you happen to be there watching it. This is only newsworthy because Jim Wyatt is blowing it up bigger than it is. QB's are put through lots of different scenarios in practice.

Oh yeah, it's little slights like that that make people think you hate Locker, by the way. At least the criticism thrown at Hasselbeck is justified with cold hard facts. He's earned his criticism. If Locker looks like a young player from time to time, it's because he is, but he will get better. Hasselbeck touched his ceiling long ago.

Sirius is live at camp and they are saying locker getting balls dropped. Hey with the schedule the way it is I have no problem if hassle starts the year. But when he gets dinged or hurt, and it is going to happen, give locker the ball and dont look back. In training camp setting a veteran should look better. I am just so glad we have matt and not KFC!

Today's QB numbers: Hasselbeck 13 of 15; Locker 16 of 20 with an INT. All in team drills #Titans

    Another day for Hasselbeck

I haven't checked these boards in a while but there was a lot of swing back and forth in just 2 days over Locker and Hasselbeck.

It's still early in camp. There's lots of time for things to swing one way or another. I'm just hoping we see consistency out of both of them.

I'm not worried yet. The first week of camp always belongs to the defense. if this is happening August 17th though....

Rusty Smith could go 400/400 on his passes with no INT's and truck Shaun Smith while stiff-arming our entire secondary on the same play with his hands tied behind his back while wearing a blindfold in training camp, but if he doesn't perform good in pre-season, it means nothing.
Hasselbeck is going to perform well in both camp and pre-season, because he's a 3-time pro bowl player who's played in 11 playoff games and led his team to a NFC championship, and is a proven leader. It's up to Locker to have a solid camp, and out-perform Hasselbeck in the pre-season. If Locker can prove the rest of camp/pre-season that he's capable of leading a winning team, he will be our starter come week 1. Hopefully he can.

I like the sentiment. But Munch pretty real mostly stated the opposite. That the QB would be decided in training camp and practice with less emphasis on the preseason games.

I think everyone (except Hasselbeck) wants Locker to outperform and look ready to lead. Nothing is very concerning this early camp except the Center injuries and Wright's late arrival.

I totally agree. That's almost exactly why I want Jake to start week 1. What better way to have him gain that valuable experience than to go against the likes of NE to open the season and that tough schedule. Throw him in the water and let him sink or swim.
