If our defense takes a major step forward this year AND our running game gets back on track then we could make a lot of noise this year and take a lot teams by surprise regardless of whether Hass or Locker is under center!

The defense was awesome tonight, from 1st through 3rd string. Marks actually looked like a second round pick tonight.
Reynold was awesome again, as was Harper, Ringer is a goner.
I thought the starting O-line did a better job of run blocking tonight which was nice to see. I dont think Cookie is being used properly again.

Slightly concerned with the penalties again, only in the first half though.

Wasn't too impressed with the route running from the recievers. I wish Preston would get more of a look in, as he is big and his hands look legit.

Derrick Morgan is looking more like a bust with every game, no wonder Egboh is taking starting reps. Another shocking display from a first round DE, in my opinion.

I wish Britt wasn't a complete tool, he would the QB's so much better, I was expecting a solid game from Locker tonight and it just didnt happen. Most of his throws were off, and the interception was a terrible throw. But he does have the ability to extend plays, and once he does it once the defense has to respect it,( see cj touchdown). We will run the ball better with Locker in there for sure. I have no idea what Munch is gonna do now. I would give them each a quarter against the cardinals and see what happens. I'm scratching my head.

Overall the defense was great. It was a nice feeling to pretty much dominate both lines of scrimmage for once. Reynold is explosion.

Player of the game for me was Ayers though, I thought he was brilliant, making every tackle and covering everyone's ass. Our LB core is much improved.

I think Locker is trying to win just with his arm, which is great, but don't lose the job because of it. Take throws that are there, use your athletic ability when you can, if nothing is available throw it away or take a sack.

Locker seemed like he was trying to hard to make things happen,he needs to settle down and just do his thing! I was thinking he might loose the job after tonight but Hass didn't look good either. I think that Locker will do much better next week, he just needs more playing time, I wish we would let him play longer than a half just so he can get some more experience.

I don;t see how you can make a comprehensive decision based on tonight. If Locker had played lights out then it would have been easy. I really didnt like the fact we gave CJ the ball three times on our first posssesion, we should have let him have a chuck at least once, to get some tempo going. He was also targeting Wright, the only guy that has no clue about the playbook!
He was shakey ever after the orible int. He should have just ran, he prob would have made the first down. Hasselbeck was his solid self as per usual, HE IS NOT GOING TO TAKE US TO A SUPERBOWL, he cant improve: Jake can, and for that reason, In my opinion we make Jake the starter, and give him as many reps with the first team in the next two preseason games as possible.

Locker definetly didn't close the QB case tonight! The running game was great but the WR's were a mess, a complete mess. That one play where Nate and Wright where in the same spot actually happened a few more times, the ball just didn't go that way. My question is I wonder if its an issue of knowing routes or if this is a byproduct of the "run and shoot" style were WR's make decisions based on coverage and end up running into each other or to the same spot.

I really liked the Defense tonight, they went balls out!

I think with more reps with the first team Locker will get more comfortable and start spreading the ball out. It was obvious he wasn't used to playing with those guys their timing was way off and he only seemed to be comfortable throwing the ball to Wright.
