I could see Rey being our #2 after the way he played this preseason. He really showed up and showed out

Exactly what I'm thinking. Reynald would be a solid speed back like CJ. So when CJ is out, Reynald can fill in for him without changing the offense. However, harper is not a power back he's just fat.

Well, I suppose we'll just have to agree to disagree on Harper and Ringer. Ringer appears to be trying CJ's technique without the speed. Harper flat-out ran over some guys last night, and has been pushing the pile for at least a couple yards up the middle. I think having a 3rd-down power back as a second would be preferable to a slower version of our starter.

I'd keep Harper and Raynaud, and let Ringer walk. Harper showed improvement this preseason, and he does fill a role in the offense that Ringer can't. I think if Harper were the #2 and received more coaching, he could become a solid power back compliment to CJ. He seems to be starting to understand that his job is to go THROUGH people, not AROUND them.

Ringer is just... well, the most vanilla bland back I've ever seen. He doesn't do anything bad, but he doesn't do anything great either. He's just a guy.

For the first time since the 2009 season, the Titans will have a new return man.

Darius Reynaud replaces Marc Mariani, who suffered a season-ending leg injury in the preseason. Mariani was a Pro Bowler in 2010, and he ranked in the top 10 in the AFC in punt and kick returns last year.

“I think he is a different type of guy because of the speed he possesses,’’ Munchak said of Reynaud. “He has good run instincts when he has the ball in his hands. He’s shown good vision. … We like what we have seen and any time he touches the ball he’s a guy who can make plays for us.”

Reynaud, who returned a punt 85 yards for a touchdown in Week One of the preseason at Seattle, has plenty of experience in the return game. He was Minnesota’s primary return man in 2009, and he returned punts and kicks for the Giants in 2010. Reynaud has a career punt return average of 8.3 yards, and his career average on kicks is 20.5.

On Monday, Reynaud said he’s ready to do his part after making the roster.

“Words can’t describe how I feel. To God be the glory,’’ Reynaud said. “I have been praying about this for a long time and it finally came true. I am just going to try and take advantage of the opportunity.”

‘I have played more on returns that I have on offense. So I am comfortable back there on returns, it is nothing new to me.”

Glad to have him on the team. It's tragic what happened to Mariani, but I feel very comfortable with Reynaud. I think he'll take one more to the house this year. I'm hoping he continues to develop as a RB.

Honestly as long as he doesn't fumble on punt return/kick off return. I don't care too much lol.

I like Reynaud a lot, but with Mariani I always knew we were keeping the ball and starting where we needed to. Reynaud may be more flashy, but I fear he'll cough one up when we can't afford to turn the ball over.

Reynaud scares me on punt returns. I heard a stat on the radio that said that for his career he has fumbled once every 10 punt returns....that ain't gonna cut it.

Unfortunately with Brady coming to town he might not have many chances to return punts...just a bunch of KOR chances.
