I flipped over to watch the Braves clinch a playoff spot last night. I don't know if they'll make much of a splash in October but they seem to have an attitude they've been lacking previous seasons.

If they can get hot, anything can happen. The Cards proved that last year.

yep, I agree and you can't help but think with this being Chippers last year if they dont push themselves a little harder. Would be nice to #10 go out on top.

I watched it last night. Incredible game. Freddie with his first career walk-off HR, and it couldn't of happened at a better time in the season. I loved the post-game celebration in the locker room.

With Medlen being one of the hottest pitchers in the league right now, I think they are going to make some damage in the playoffs. They just need to stay consistent, and they can beat any team in the MLB.

Hopefully the Phillies destroy the Nats in the remaining part of the season, giving the Braves a chance for 1st place in the NL.

my Nats are pretty much conceding defeat by holding out strasburg which is disappointing to me considering they are probably the best team without Strasburg and with him makes them the heavy favorite to win the WS.

I just don't see why you wouldn't go for it all now. Stras/Gonzalez/Zimmermann...That's as good a 1-2-3 Combo in the playoffs you'll ever see.

I'm also a Nats fan (circa 2005) and I don't think we are giving in at all. Strasburg getting shut down is a bummer but I know for a fact that a lot of teams would kill to go into the playoffs with a rotation of Gio/Zim/Detwiler/Jackson; 3 of those guys have ERA's in the top 15 and Edwin Jackson is #23 with a sub 4.

If we preform poorly in the playoffs it will be because our young team simply gets beat.

I'm old enough to have seen the Senators play so I'm thrilled to see a Washington baseball team make the playoffs, As a Nats fan I'm disappointed about Strasburg but I'm not giving up on them,

Winning a world series is harder than winning a championship in any other major american professional sport IMO. And when you're in prime position to do it and you tell your best player to sit down, gives the impression that you'd be ok with 2nd, or 3rd place or 4th place.

I can understand the innings limit. But what pisses me off was how stupid the Nationals were with it. They were in 1st place literally the entire season, and the smart move would have been to shut down strasburg because of a phantom injury for a month mid season, and then bring him back for September and the playoffs.
