    Can we talk about our first round picks?

    VY = Winning record but a bust.. He wasn't the Steve McNair we'd hope he'd be
    Pacman = Nuff Said
    Griffin = He's practically a statue.
    Chris Johnson = What have you done for me lately?
    Kenny Britt =I don't know what to think... He has his days.. but is injury prone
    Morgan = Busto
    Wright = I will give him a year but the draft pick didn't address our immediate needs.
    Locker = Jury is out but he seems to stay hurt alot.. Not encouraging

    Maybe we praise our 2nd and 3rd round gems because all of our past first rounders currently suck/are injured.

    Maybe we just need to draft better, smarter.. But it still falls back on coaching staff and front office.

    As far as a head coach can be, I suppose.

    They tried. They brought in Wimbley to address the rush. The brought in a bunch of C/G and tried to get more than Hutch. They signed Stevens, Griffin and McCarthy to long-term deals. They drafted a weapon for their young QB.

    Would I have preferred a C/G or DE instead of Wright? Probably. But we didn't know what the front office did in that Britt wasn't worth trusting the future to. Would I have liked to see Williams here instead of Buffalo? I would have though he's not done much so far.

    I don't think either of the coordinators were his first (or second) choice. Nonetheless, point taken. I wasn't thrilled with either hire.

    But we live in a real world where we can see players missing assignments knowing the coaches are not telling them to whiff on a block or tackle. We see Hasselbeck throwing darts at the ground or CJ dancing around for -2. The players must execute better.

    Is Munch totally responsible? Only if you are willing to ignore the real reasons the Titan stink right now.

    Question: Was Rex Ryan responsible for the Jets success a few years ago? Is Rex the reason they are struggling now?

    The answer? Yes and no. Coaches, like QBs, get too much of the praise and blame for team success or failure.

    We are really not far off. However, in my world, if you are the head coach you ARE responsible for all aspects of the team's performance. Player continues to miss tackles? Bench them or reprimand the position coach. Ultimately, the team's performance reflects the HC. You don't see players continuously making the same errors for the Patriots do you? Reason- Belicheck. Steelers? Tomlin. etc

    Of course the coaches aren't telling them to whiff, or dance or throw darts. But they also aren't holding them accountable. Munchak displayed his "weakness" when he made that statement that we going getting new players or coaches- that we're stuck with what we got (paraphrase) and that they have to do better. You know why the players are executing the way they are? Because they can. There isn't any accountability. Munchak needs to lay down some expectations for performance or bench them. The horse is out of the barn now- this team isn't going post-season so he needs to hit the "stars" of the team with some pine if they can't execute better.

    Ultimately, it all reflects the head coach. That is what guys like Harbaugh know.

    I suppose you mean this season. Last season was in no way a failure.

    Yes, this season. Munch was talking about this season and I was responding to his quotes.

    Although last season is beginning to look more and more like a fluke. How can anyone defend us taking such a gigantic step back on both sides of the ball?

    Also, people always want to credit Much for the team's "success" last season with the lockout and all. But it's like they fail to realize that the rest of the league was operating under that same handicap. Perhaps we benefited by a "leveling of the playing field" just as much as we were hindered by the lockout? IDK, but an argument could be made.

    Ol' Munch sure hasn't accomplished very much this season with a full offseason/camp. Maybe the less time he has his hands on this team the better. :)

    Agree 100%.

    There isn't anything resembling accountability on this team.

    Tommie Campbell still out there on kick coverage after his 47th penalty?
    Michael Griffin still out there after his 47th missed tackle?
    CJ still out there after his 47th 5 yard loss?

    I just don't get it. Asses need to be sat on the bench. It was apparent after the 2nd or 3rd game that the run game wasn't going to magically come together all of a sudden. And here we are heading into week 6 and still no changes. Now at 1-4 it's sadly too late anyway. Maybe making changes wouldn't have mattered. But we'll never know. Munch "Fishered" us with his stubbornness and unwillingness to recognize the reality of the situation.

    And I hate this "we don't have anyone better" excuse. If you're not getting it done you're not getting it done. Next man up please.

    Acceptance of mediocrity. It starts at the very top and trickles all the way down to (most of) the fans.

    So, in your eyes, the answer is to sit down a player and put someone else in instead of getting more out of your better players? C'mon. I can understand criticism of Munch & Co. for bad schemes and not getting more out of their talent but I can't blame him for playing the guys he thinks gives him the best chance of executing the gameplan.

    At WR, TE, and DL, everyone who is active is usually playing because they rotate in. There's not enough players on the roster to sit the entire OL. I can see sitting a guard by putting in Matthews or Lutui just to see what happens.

    Heck, we saw Babs taking a direct snap. It worked to perfection but was followed by the CJ fumble. That was pretty gutsy and, if it hadn't worked, we'd be riding Munch for putting a safety in to run the football.

    The Titans limited to replacing RB, QB, LB and DB. We saw Ringer and Reynaud at RB yesterday. Neither did much. We've seen other LB combinations and know they sucked. We got Johnson at S and he sucked. Guess what? If you sit Griffin, that's who goes into the game. Corners? Tommie Campbell? Lawd, no.

    I just don't see the answer to poor execution being to put in players who are less talent/experience, thus, less likely to execute better.

    "Next man up" behind Griffin is Robert Johnson who has already proven his lack of abilities. That's the answer?
