A top DE carried Indy for years though

Jarious Byrd would be a good one to go after instead then. We need saftey help now. We do not have time to wait for another midrounder to develop.

Nailed it. At first I was for the 34 switch, then I started thinking... our personel just doesn't fit. We'd literally need a brand new defense. People say Wimbley could make the switch, he was average/not good at OAK as a 34 OLB. Ayers is a beast a 43 OLB, people THINK he could switch, but he's been built up as a 43. Casey would probably be OK as a 34 DE. Verner & McCourty would both be useless, you need lock down MAN coverage CBs.. both our CBs are better suited in zone IMO.

I just feel like we need a STAR on our DL... pun intended. He will asorb doubles, free up other players, get to the QB quicker, thus enhancing the secondary. Opening up more 1v1 tackles for our LBs, etc

Give me Star or Werner Rd 1. Rd2-Rd5: S, OG/OC, DE/DT, RB... in whatev order.

I would LOVE Jarius, but would he want to come to TN? Unlikely. Unless we give him a Michael Wiffin contract.

The reality is that McCarthy, Klug, Casey, Brown and Martin all slipped in the draft because they are unsuited to the 3-4. With so many NFL teams jumping on the 3-4 bandwagon there were fewer teams looking at those players. With the exception of Klug, those players look to have a solid future in this league. It would be a shame to give up on them already.

Exactly. I've always been a 4-3 guy... but the 4-3 is built on dominant DL, and we don't have that right now. We need our Kearse, Haynesworth, KVB, etc.

The mock draft guys at CBS agree. One has us taking Werner, the other has us taking Lotulelei. Hopfully the front office is of the same opinion.

I'd be happy with either. Johnathan Hankins is another name to consider.

So would everyone agree doubling up on D line early in the draft if we grabbed star early?

Here's my way to early Big Board:

    1. Geno Smith, QB, WVU
    2. Jarvis Jones, OLB, UGA
    3. Star Lotulelei, DT, Utah
    4. Luke Joeckel, OT, Texas A&M
    5. Bjoern Wener, DE, Florida St
    6. Johnathan Hankins, DT, Ohio St
    7. Barkevious Mingo, OLB, LSU
    8. Jackson Jeffocat, OLB, Texas
    9. Keenan Allen, WR, California
    10. Matt Barkley, QB, USC

(not my Titans big-board, entire draft big-board)
