Dream: trase our 1st and get a 1st/3rd in return. We also get a 3rd for Finnegan compensation.

    1 - Barett Jones
    2 - Michael Buchanan
    3 - Undecided safety
    3 - Undecided OT
    3 - Undecided DE

Wed now have a stud C in Jones. Buchanan and xtra 3rd for pass rush. New starting safety, as well as a FA safety. And a replacement for Roos/Stewart when one of them is a FA (getting old). Move Velasco to G.

I would not mind seeing the Titans take a mid-round QB. Get someone to push Rusty. See if we can do better. Maybe develop a future backup. Or, best case scenario, develop a guy another team wants to make a starter and trade him for a first or second down the road.

Yea this is the year to take multiple pass rushers not spend a pick on a very thin and ???? QB class.

Frankly seeing how this team has drafted the last couple seasons, it's safe to say they have one player they will covet for the first round and in the second it will be whoever falls out of the first round.

Akeem ayers was talked as a first round prospect but he slipped and we snagged em.
Zach Brown was also a first round prospect and he slipped and we snagged em....

If we get who we want in the first round, don't be surprised when we take the black horse in the second again.

In thinking we go pass rusher first... And I wouldn't be surprised if we take another pass rusher that slips into the second

Zach Brown slipped for the same reason Jurrell Casey, Mike Martin and Colin McCarthy slipped. Not well suited tothe 3-4 defence that is all the rage in the NFL these days. 12 years ago, all those guys would have gone a lot higher.

Probably shouldn't get excited with any player.... our 1st Rounders have pretty much been surprises.... Locker was a bit less since something leaked out but Wright was a complete shocker... we might go with BPA again...

Brown slipped because he had quests regarding is tackling and toughness along with the attitude problems that come with UNC players... Mychal Kendrick's and bobby Wagner both went to 43 teams before brown came off the board. Only pass rush style OLBs went in the first... That's not because they were 34 prospects but because pass rush is Key in this league.

McCarthy slipped because dude is glass. It was very well known coming out of college.

Casey and Martin however you might have a slight point. They are primarily 43 DL. I think Martin however could play the 5 tech in the 34. And Martin was a riser. If you look at the draft...

Dontari Poe went off the board but he has unique and rare size/speed for a NT. (6'3)
Fletcher cox also went in the first and he also have extremely good feet. Dude is lightening. (6'4)

Brockers went to the rams, he basically was drafted on potential. Massive size and length. (6'5)
Next off the board was Derek wolf to the broncos... He has good size and was speed for their 34 (6'5)

Devon Still to the bengals... Huge drop off, he fell hard. Someone was taking the chance (6'5)
And then in the third was grabbed Mighty Mike Martin... The undersized, extremely strong DT from Michigan. (6'1)

Teams draft on potential and size a LOT. Not just because they run a 34.

I see your point. On Brown though his "alergic to contact" issues become magnified in a 3-4. Any linebacker in a 3-4 is going to have to deal with blockers a heck of a lot more than a WLB in a 4-3. And McCarthy may be "glass" but he was also a player who needs to keep away from blockers. Much like a Zach Thomas who was a beast because he was free to rome.
