I don't believe that.. I believe the opposite. A new movie will reignite interest in Star Wars, that's been dormant for almost a decade.

A 1978 toy of a stormtrooper will not decrease in value because of a new movie. If not for reignited interest in the films, in 30 years, the toys would be worth less, or worthless.

Because Lucas hasn't diluted the Star Wars pool enough, already?

Damage has been done... I'd like to see what someone else can do with it.

After episodes 1-3 there isn't a whole lot more damage to do. I don't think the value of the Stars Wars name will go down I just think they're going to branch off into something else. Look at all the comics, books, games, and mini series they've had since the originals trilogy, there is so much they can do. We also have to remember nothing will be as great as the original 3, so trying to compare every single little thing to them is a waste of time.

I read that they're doing an original story, so nothing based on the books/games.

There's plenty of more stories to tell on the big screen, like Shadows of the Empire or Darth Bane or Death Troopers or Tales of the Bounty Hunters.

Not a fan of Disney doing Star Wars though, I was hoping any future Star War movies would go the Nolan route and be less campy...cuz most things I loved from my childhood, if I watch it now, I'll look back and think how great it was, but with the Star Wars movies, when I watch it now, I think "wow this sh*t's pretty lame when I watch it now."

I hope you're talking about the 90s-2000s ones.. cause the 70s and 80s ones are still great. Had personality. That's what the new ones were lacking. Han Solo type character who was a wise-a#@. The new ones were all british accented stiffs and CGI most of the time.

Another good thing about the originals is that they were made in the 70s, and they could only rely on CGI so much at the time.

The only cool character to come out of the new series was Darth Maul, and he died after the first movie.

From my understanding they are doing a sequel trilogy of the original Star Wars movies staring Han, Luke, and Leia; and if that's the case I'll be disappointed. I don't want a recast of the characters I love.
