The Titans’ defense made life miserable for Miami rookie quarterback Ryan Tannehill in more ways than one yesterday.

In addition to picking off three Tannehill passes, the Titans produced a season-high nine passes knocked away – four more than the team had totaled in any previous game this year.

Rookie cornerback Coty Sensabaugh had a pair of those passes defensed, as did linebacker Akeem Ayers, who tipped one Tannehill pass right into the hands of fellow linebacker Colin McCarthy.

“I just think it was that guys got confidence as we were playing,” Titans coach Mike Munchak said. “I think they were jumping receivers more maybe so than we had in the past.

“When the ball bounces your way a little bit, you get more confident in what you’re doing. And these guys are playing more aggressively.”

Munchak can only hope the Titans’ strong defensive performance is a sign of improvement for a defensive unit that began Sunday ranked last in points allowed.

“Hopefully that’s something we can build on as a defense,” Munchak said. “You’re not always going to get four turnovers in every game, but that’s the kind of plays we believe we can make. That’s what that kind of game does for you. You realize those plays are there.”

Really liked Sensabaugh out there. So much for Mouton.

My only complaint is that the plays he made were borderline pass interference (with one PI called). In a game where the referees have a hardon for the other team, those may not get called our way.

It's just one game, but if he continues improving, he has a very bright future.

i really liked coty also. There was one play where he got confused and got beat, but i think griffin laid a hit on whoever caught the ball (surprisingly)...

however, other than that, coty in what i think was his first significant playing time, surpassed my expectation of him...

he has decent size at 6'1 200 lbs... and with the way WR are going to become bigger and faster in the near future, its a good thing to have...

keep up the good work coty...

Coty is a bright spot. Let's hope he can do the same against a vetern QB with good receivers.

He's still kinda wimpy (gets pushed around a lot), I'm not sure he's ready to be our nickle. I'm hoping he is, but I just don't expect it.
