Look how fast CJ caught up in the RB race. Anybody think he has a shot at passing up AP?

If he would've started out like he is now he'd be the #1 back in the league.

I'm thrilled he's having the success he's accostomed to seeing, but I don't think CJ will lead the league in rushing and the reason is Adrian Peterson.

AP is a beast, he'll always come out hard and tear it up. He's averaging over 110-yards a game, that puts him around 1800 for the year. No way IMO that C.J. gets 1800-yards with the start he had. He could if he's lucky maybe touch 1500 (which is still impressive), but he's not going to catch AP simply cause AP will never slow down.

Now I do think if CJ comes in to week-1 with everything going right, then yea he would probably lead the league.

I don't know yet. There's still 6 games left and AP is ahead by only 266 yards. Both teams have a bye this week and if CJ can have some monster games he could very well pass up AP. I don't think AP will have the same success later in the season that he's had early on.

Either way, I'm proud of CJ and the way that he's silencing his critics rather than giving in.

The only way C.J. has a chance at taking Adrian Peterson's rushing title from him this year is if the teams Peterson is about to face live up to their reputation.

AP still plays Green Bay and Chicago twice, those are two great run stop defenses. C.J. gets to play Jacksonville, Indy, New York, and Jacksonville again, those 4 games will be vs the worst run defenses in the league. It's certainly possible for CJ to break 200-yards here soon, especially on one of those crap defenses. But he'll need big games every week to make up those 266-yards.

Again it is my fault for how i titled the thread but this was not supposed to be a thread about CJ but about Deangelo Williams and the panthers running game which should be a significant nfl story. People talk about Cam's bad season but he has had no support.

Compare Carolina's running game to Tampa's running game and you can see why Josh Freeman is having a good year.

CJ gonna run like a oily cup of coffee, so bad he's good now, gas station coffee all caterwhomping through the intestines, the Jaguars eviscerated now for like 150, 154 maybe, A TD and a big ol' Pop-Tart on the sideline, like the TV catches him chomping a Pop-Tart all cool, all it ain't nothing but breakfast, wait for lunch when I somersault over a linebacker. Cat be cooler than a penguin's bank account. I think we should target Cook more often, BTW.
