Funny how the season goes. After the Bears loss, Titans fans were talking about cleaning house and who the team might target in the 2013 draft. After the Dolphins win, now we're looking at how much of a shot the Titans have to take the final Wildcard spot. So goes the roller coaster ride that is being a fan of the Tennessee Titans this season.

Let's start with the glass half-full...

The Titans trail wild-card leaders Pittsburgh and Indy by two games. But they have the tiebreaker over the Steelers who may be without Big Ben a few games and will play the Colts who they should have beaten a few weeks ago. They also face the Texans twice. No doubt it'll take winning five of the final six games for the Titans to have a chance but some team always seems to make a late-season run and go deep into the playoffs as a result. Why not the Titans?

The optimist in me sees the Titans coming off their best game with a week to heal up and facing one of the league's worst defenses in Jacksonville. The Jags are 29th against the rush allowing an average of 137.3 yards per game. Their secondary allowed Matt Schaub to pass for 527 yards last week. Jake Locker should be 100% and CJ appears to be back to form. The Titans defense also had their best game of the season.

    Now, for the glass half-empty...

The Jags gave the Texans all they wanted last week and barely lost in overtime. Chad Henne passed for 354 yards and four TDs in the game with Justin Blackmon having the best game of his rookie season with 236 yards (almost matching his season total of 250). Henne may be the spark the Jags offense has needed and the Titans defense isn't close to being as good as the Texans D.

I'm not a fan of playing on-the-road after a bye week—especially against a conference rival. Throw a holiday in there, a more confident Jags offense, and a team desperately wanting to avoid their first eight-game losing streak in franchise history and it can add up to a big letdown game for the Titans.

If the Titans can score early and take some wind out of the Jags sails, things may go the Titans' way. CJ has to continue to produce as the Jags will make limiting him their priority. Locker hopefully shook off the rust and will be more productive with his arm. As long as he can limit his mistakes, the Titans should be able to move the football.

Stopping the Jags offense is another matter. Defensively, the Titans DL has to put pressure on Henne. He's already proven he can be productive if given a clean pocket. I expect we'll see the safeties playing deeper to avoid the big play which means tackling well is a must. The winner of the turnover battle will probably win this game.

The Jags have been awful at home this season. Let's hope this one ends with a lot of bag-headed fans with moustaches drawn on them in the stands.

What do you think the keys are to this game?
