Titans wide receiver Kenny Britt sounds like a man eager for a new start. Asked what he expected to see more under new Titans offensive coordinator Dowell Loggains, Britt offered a succinct response: “The ball – more.”

It’s been a frustrating season for Britt, who’s still in the process of recovering from three knee surgeries since October of 2011. In the nine games he’s played, he’s caught 30 passes for 337 yards and two touchdowns.

His 11.2-yard per reception average is a far cry from the 17.5 yards per catch he was averaging over his first three seasons. In addition, he has only averaged about three catches per game this season, as opposed to about six per game in the first three games of 2011 before getting hurt.

Britt said he has a good relationship with Loggains, who was in his third year as quarterbacks coach when he was promoted to replace the fired Chris Palmer on Monday.

“I’ve liked Dowell since I’ve been here. Dowell’s always been on my side and he’s a good coach,” Britt said. “He was the quarterbacks coach, but he’d help us in the wide receiver room. On certain plays, he would tell us what the quarterback was thinking and where the quarterback wanted us to run routes.”

Were playmakers such as Britt getting the ball enough in Palmer’s scheme?

“I don’t know, to tell you the truth,” Britt said. “You could just go by everybody’s stats. Numbers don’t lie. Plays don’t lie. We have that on film. We have the stats. There’s not much I can say.”

Well, one thing I would like to see LESS of is WR screens. We suck at those, but Palmer sure liked to run them anyway

If he didn't drop so many balls he'd have 10 more catches at the very least.

Throw the ball to Britt. I was so happy how he started the 2011 season, thought we finally hit it big in the draft... well then, you know what happened.

Think the moves were made to late but I like them both. Locker needs more bootlegs to use his legs and take more shots down the field. Think cook and britt see production go up. Also think we will not see as much run and shoot but maybe a little more dinger air mcnair style with more qb bootlegs and draws

I hope the offense opens up now! The move was made too late I think but better now than watch 5 more weeks of palmer ball! I want to see more roll outs from Locker, maybe we use CJ the right way and not try to pound him up the middle for 1st and 2nd down then throw on 3rd. I got so frustrated with Palmers play calling run run pass he was so predictable. Hopefully the change is enough to give us something worth watching for the next few weeks!

Actually there is plenty wrong with 'our' screens...

1 - Locker Inaccuracy - often overshoots/undershoots - receivers have often had to 'make a play' on the ball to catch it (jump, go low, etc...). That extra second or two lost can mean everything in a screen.

2 - Wright's 'Eagerness' (if you will) - Often Wright (mostly early on) would race up the field as soon as he caught it, not letting the blocks develop (he's also been our primary 'screen' guy, so that was a big part of it).

3 - Cook Can't Block - More then once I've seen Cook out there on screens, not sure exactly what he's doin out there.

4 - Play Design / Timing - I''m not sure Palmer was calling them at good times (with regards to the D package), nor did he design them right maybe...
