I think I am going to jump on the Werner/Elam band wagon.

Lets face it, no body like to reach for a guy just because the position is that bad. But the safety position is that bad. It needs to be addressed.

Manti T'eo would be a jizz-worthy pick. Dude is going to be a superstar - a true defensive game-changer. Titans are pining for a guy like that. We'll most likely have to lose out to even have a chance to get him though.

Just for ****'s and gigs, let's say we lost out while some other bottom-dwellers win a game or two and we are lucky enough to land T'eo in round 1....

    Round 2 - Eric Reid, S, LSU

Round 3 - Tank Carradine, DE, Florida State

    Round 4 - Khaled Holmes, C, USC

Round 4 (Finny comp) - Honey Badger, DB, Streets

    Round 5-7 - OL/S/RB?

    Profit.

hmmm.... just kidding. I lol'd at the "streets" for Honey Badger.

In all honestly, we need to stop talking about Te'o. Chances are we'll win the Jags game and be picking #7-#11 range. He'll be gone then I believe. It also wouldn't surprise if we won the Jets game and finish 6-10.

i'm starting to think that it doesn't matter if we get te'o or not.... grey is still going to screw up our defense...

Our best option (finishing say #7-#12 range)

Step 1: Bengals earn #19-#21 pick.
Step 2: Trade our 1st (#7-#12) for #21 and 2nd (OAKs pick, will be top 3)

Very possible trade, look at the DAL trade last year: STL traded #6 for #14 and #45. We'd be trading say #9 for #21 & #34.

We would then have Cincys 1st (#21), Oaks 2nd from Cincy (#34), our 2nd (#41), our 3rd, and potentially another 3rd (likely a 4th) from Finnegan. I would love if we could pickup Barrett Jones and Matt Elam.. then a DE/DT with our other 2nd.

...or we could just get Mant'i Te'o/Bjoern Werner!

C'mon, Grey won't be back next year. No way he returns after coaching the 31st D on points allowed, 26th worst pass D, and 27th worst rush D... especially when we have talent on our defense.

I love Warmack, but it's the same situation as DeCastro last year. We need playmakers, we're not a team that can afford using a 1st on a guard. We need to get a defensive playmaker.

Dion Jordan is interested, havent watch alot of Orgeon games... do we got any West Coasters with some insight? Reminds me of Aldon Smith, except we don't have a Justin Smith...

I think Elam could go in the top 10 If he finishes the season playing on a high level in the bowl game. Barron was coming off a sports hernia surgery, missed the combine, and then did very little at the pro day. Still went top 10. Analyst still thought Barron would slide to the second.

Like I said Elam reminds me of Earl Thomas. Both are versatile in all phases of the game.
